Okay, so it's a bit of a cheat, but it is considered the first design for a helicopter. This, of course is Da Vinci's concept for a vertical flight machine. Although it never flew, it did demonstrate the principle which today's choppers use to fly. It's an Academy snap kit with a spring drive so it will actually rotate. Unfortunately, because of my camera woes, I can't show the finely molded details such as the wood grain and "sail" texture, but it is quite impressive.

There's two theories to arguin' with a woman. Neither one works.

There's a whole series of the Da Vinci kits, Mike. There are several I'd like to get, including the flying machine.

Hmmm, where does the dual quad big-block Ford engine fit on this contraption, also don't seen any place to attach the M/T slicks.  Other than that it appears to be a fairly nice kit.
