If you move the ball back to your left ear like Ben has it you are there.

The lead wrist is broken down and not bowed like Mr. Hogans. I am working on it! Actually I am somewhat happy with my progress so far and I don't think that the body position is all that bad. The good things that I see are a direct result of swing pipe practice.

The ball position that you mention is I think a matter of camera angle.

Herbert,

I'll give you the benefit of my keenly trained eye:

1. Hat
2. Shirt
3. Pants
4. Shoes

Now that I have enlightened you, these should be easy fixes.

I think you look really good. Maybe the ball is a little forward but the only real difference I see from this view is that Hogan is driving with his legs more. Personally I think your arms/hands look good. Hogan had a very pronounced bow in his lead hand because of the weak grip and the fact that he also rotated the clubface open on the way back so that he could really go at it without hooking. I think Bertrand said in his book on Hogan that Hogan had a little twist move with his hands that started the bow in his lead wrist. He did this move as he started the downswing with his hips and legs. Herbert, keep doing what you're doing, looks good to me.

hitting a 3 wood off of the deck. Herbert is hitting his driver. Given the new driver and ball technologies, the modern technique of hitting the driver on the upswing will produce greater distance. Herbert's driver ball position looks just fine.

or lay down some clubs.

Sometimes your ball position can surprise you.

It's good to check it against a firm grid.

Are you nuts? I shop for golf apparel at KMart! I am unlikely to spend thousands of dollars on hand made custom golf shoes... Not to mention the ultra high end shirts, sweaters and the slacks with a crease that could slice off the head of your nine iron!
