A few swings in the backyard.....I know I'm not hitting any balls, but wanted to record a few swings on clearkey after doing some bertholy exercises. I see a few bad things right away...maybe better trained eyes can see more.

Like Ham mentioned awhile back the more he worked on his swing, the simpler it seemed. Like wise, as you train you eye becomes "conditioned" too to look for things. This "self diagnostic mode" is a side benefit of training that most don't mention...

The swing looks pretty good...for someone only a couple years into the game...really good.

There is one thing that you can address immediately in your training and continue to work on and that is the Vital/Master move:



You can see that the club is moving soon after your lead knee does and has come off of your top of swing position a lot even before you have completed the move to the lead side. The club should still be behind you. In the sequence below, notice that everything "stays put" while the Vital Move is happening. You can see the club actually goes back further as I make the Vital Move:



So keep working on Imprint, Slow Flow, and Divot Master to build that into your swing. There's some other stuff too, but I don't want to Bogart the the thread....

Seems like such an easy thing to do....yet it eludes me! I've been working at the exercises more lately and staying off the course/range.....good thing is I see some other positive changes, and the last time I did actually hit balls I had positive results. I feel like I'm doing the "vital move" correctly during my training, but it doesn't show during actual swings...and if I try to consciously do it while hitting balls I usually will not finish my backswing and other bad things happen. Also, this proves I need to video tape my exercises more.....

I'll get there...eventually.
