Reprobation

The foreknowledge of God is based upon His decree, plan, and purpose; it is the expression of His will and good pleasure, not a response to man's free-will choices.

I make no claim to be an expert in theology and don't really meet the qualifications to be a teacher.  Perhaps that is why God has not given me the gift of expertise in this area.  What I do know I have learned from the study of Scripture.  I have observed Reprobation personally in the lives of people I have known. My first encounter witnessing it was in a college professor    It didn't dawn on me that there was something missing.  He was all head knowledge, but there was no compassion there.  He would constantly deride me over a nickname I had.  This was a very curious eccentricity of his.  Finally he walked away from Christianity and became an atheist later in life.  I say Christianity, because I don't believe he was ever truly Christian.  There was always a coldness about him and he would nitpick over silly things.  He became a vehement hater of God.  He would post and say things about God that were just vile.  He would enter church services to disrupt the sermons.  Even in his old age he was unrepentant. The last few days I have come across some folks that are just truly bad like this professor had become.  They claim to have been 'christian' but now I need a bath in lye soap after viewing their content.  It is important to note when using a complete translation that when Peter talks about these people, that they gain knowledge about Jesus and righteousness, but it doesn't say anything about them being elected.  Their reprobate heart returns to wallowing in its mire and their last state is even more filthy than the first.

2 Peter 2:20-22---- For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.   For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Fruit can be very telling.  I come across too many people on websites that claim to be Christian, but don't act like it.  They are cold and nitpicking like this professor.  I cannot judge them from behind a computer screen.  Only God knows the true bent of their hearts.

The bible is quite frank when it comes to election.  Many are not comfortable with this idea, but God knows the bent of our hearts even at first we might seem hopeless.  The elect continue to grow through the lives.  As they age the world becomes less appealing.  I have a friend in my church.  She is 90 years old.  Every time I meet her, she is talking about Jesus.  She hold prayer meetings in the nursing home where she lives.  She also hold Bible studies.  During her active life she was involved in witnessing.  She has mentored me in job of teaching children at my church.  She is the antithesis of the college professor and the other odious individuals I have met.

Ephesians 1:3, 4 — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”

I Peter 1:2 — “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”

I am here to learn more about great doctrines of the faith.

I have only encountered one person that I would consider destined to perdition.

That person still walks God's earth, so I cannot be certain in my assumption. Perhaps things will change in years to come. Who can truly know but God? I can only speculate given this person's outright hatred of the very God this person claims to believe. Yes, this person professes the faith, but all this person's available words related to that claim of faith are rooted in manifest error and heresy. I pray for this person often, that it be the will of God that this person be among those God has set His preference upon before time began.

God only knows a person's heart. My son has a friend like that and it is something to pray about--that is is not an evil influence on my son.  There is a man that claims to know God but yet he spews forth blasphemies and such wickedness.  He even preaches wickedness and tries to put the stamp of 'christian' on it.

Indeed. As Scripture attests, not all that claim "Lord, Lord...etc.", will be found worthy at the final judgment.
