I was speaking to a Christian friend who advised me not to street preach(public preaching) on the grounds of equating it to laypreaching, sending this link warning against it:

I never equated public preaching to be forbidden to laymen. The impression given is that one has to be ordained by the Church to publicly preach. This is the first I have ever heard of this notion.
I am researching this matter further, as there is fear of presuming God's will and incurring chastisement as a result, if it is not permitted.
The ideal is to be sent by a Church; the problem is most Churches do not take part in public preaching. In this case, does one do so anyways, or how shall the issue be rightly divided with wisdom?
Reading Charles Spurgeon gives a very strong defense of public evangelism by all Churches.
