The Friday evening and Saturday afternoon debates were entertaining and frustrating.

Entertaining in the sense that to watch how both sides were so ill-equipped and stumbled around in nonsensical hypotheticals much too often.

Frustrating in the sense that Matt Slick was simply terrible at defending Calvinism, much less Reformed thought, and was not very steeped in open theism. He admitted to not being well read of the Reformers and it showed. Also his tendency to come across arrogant and dismissive was not lost on the audience. His stated and startling admission that he views God as not atemporal basically conceded the bulk of the open theist's arguments. When confronted with articles from CARM where he says otherwise, he opined that he would have to go back and make some changes to that content. Best that Mr. Slick stay focused upon evangelization efforts with Mormons. Sigh.

At present, the gold standard for live debates with openists remains White's debate with Bob Enyart:
