A recent Facebook search made me discover a rare and legendary photo. In November 1990 Vanuatu won the Melanesian Cup, probably their most important achievement ever.

Nice photo.  Interesting title though...  Vanuatu were bottom in 1992 :-)

So there was Alick Santhy and Santhy Alick in the same team? What an odd couple.

Another nice picture showing some members of the winning squad with the trophy.

Million-dollar question. I can just say they were kept somewhere at Tennis Club, as this source states.

Wow, it does really seem that Vanuatu's success at the 1990 Melanesian Cup produced a lot of enthusiasm over there, because these nice stamps were released at that time.

Please note: although the caption says “1992”, Vanuatu won the 1990 edition. In 1992 they were bottom...

I love the comically amateurish cartoons in exotic football stamps.  Especially the ones commemorating innocuous moments.

I want to see the Champions' League final broadcast exclusively through the medium of exotic stamp cartoons.
