Not sure where the best place to discuss miscellaneous football variants is but futsal seems to be the closest match to this new one, UV Football. Designed by Bolton Wanderers to give young girls more confidence in playing the game but just in general it looks like it could take off as a fun niche sport like bubble football has...

The success and popularity of football, as a participation sport, is precisely because it is simple and can be played in some form almost anywhere with no equipment, often not even a goal or a proper ball.

If they can't get middle-class children to play sport without such gimmicks, then they'll just have to ramp up the tax on computer games and I-Phones.

I agree in a sense, but if this is proven to get through some psychological barriers to pre-teen girls playing football or whatever then I don't really see a negative here.
I just see it as ultimately ending up being a popular fixture on the stag do circuit (but I'm free to try and make drunk basketball a thing in that market if there's any takers Image)...

Surely Drunken UV Football is the way forward, though that might already be a film involving Jackie Chan.
