Maybe somebody can help me ?
2.3.1996 Saudi Arabia - Syria 3-0 in Riyadh
5.1.2002 Saudi Arabia - Romania 0-2 in Riyadh
I cant find news about the 1996 friendly.
Romania League XI played a friendly against Kuwait on 3.1.2002 , it could be same team that played Saudi Arabia two days later ?

I think you must be right about the Romania League XI. I don't think they would send 2 teams to the Middle East.
3.1.2002 Kuwait 1-1 Romania
5.1.2002 Saudi Arabia 2-0 Romania (not 0-2)
8.1.2002 Oman 1-2 Romania

Possibly Olympic team of Saudi Arabia. But I don't know. Gulf matches are hard to check...

Remarkably impressive performances from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Or rather poor from the Romanians, somehow failing to beat teams that put out 1 and 0 players respectively, with goals conceded to people not even on the pitch... the old "Ronaldo v Scotland" joke rings a bell...

Well, this was just a Romania local-based team on a winter tour.  It would have been (even more) disappointing for Gulf football generally if they were still able to give the hosts a shoeing.
