I think Saint Barthelemy want to become a CONCACAF member as they have now split from Guadeloupe opening the door for them to join CONCACAF who would most likely accpet them in. Don't think they will join FIFA like Guadeloupe and Martinegue.

Saint-Barthélemy actually split from Saint-Martin (they were both administered as dependencies of Guadeloupe previously). Saint-Barthélemy recently got their own FA though, and so the "Football Committee of the Northern Islands" (Saint-Martin/Saint-Barthélemy) has now ceased to exist. Saint-Pierre & Miquelon has a similar population, and has not joined CONCACAF, although I believe it could. They have expressed their disappointment that they were not invited to the French Overseas Territories Championship to be played later this year in France. This is for the league selections of the French Territories. Wallis & Futuna and Saint-Martin were also not invited. Saint-Pierre want to play in the 2010 edition.

Would be good if Saint Pierre did start playing games as they do have a football league their if very small and could compete against some of the smaller CONCACAF members.

If I understand correctly, I think St. Barthélemy may be breaking away from the St. Martin FA again. Can anyone confirm this?

"Bonjour,
Sportivement,"

This is what I received from the St. Barth FA. It´s pretty interesting. They will competing at a tournament where also clubs from Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, Guadeloupe and Antigua will participate. He also told that they invite the CFU to visit the island and the stadium for preparing further steps to CFU and CONCACAF.

It suggests the date was 17th May - did you find another article to overrule that?

17th May was the correct date, at 19:45 at the Stade de Saint-Jean.
RMSA = Régiment du Service Militaire Adapté

journaldesaintbarth.com/journaux/pdf/Journal1078.pdf
Football

This article suggests it is St. Barth's first match - but we know different, of course.
Perhaps it is their first match under an independent FA (the wording seems to suggest they have broken away from the Saint Martin FA).  The musings about the return of the Leeward Islands competition included the possibility os St. Barth entering a team, so it seems it may well be a separate FA now.

Sorry becaus of the incorrect date.So did they split again from Saint Martin? I think they could become more active if the Leeward Islands Tournament actually returns.... if!
BTW the Saint Martin squad from 2010 which competetd at the CFU qualification consisted of at least four players from Saint Barths.

Yes I knew that but now I know why. Don´t get why the always play against club teams etc. I believe they could play against other national teams instead like Anguilla or Saint Martin. These teams play abroad sometimes so why not inviting them?

I can translate if you want

Not sure if translator was right, but are you saying there’s a tournament between Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Saint Martin and Saint Barth’s?

This is awesome man thanks for the response. Quick questions:

1) do you have a link to the article about the tournament? I tried to find it with no luck.

2) Do you know if this will be youth teams or senior sides?

It seems St Barth switched jerseys between the matches; from Kappa in April to Nike in May. That's all the details I could find from local papers.

In case anyone is confused by what is written above (I certainly was).

Results were:
29.4 St. Barthélemy 3-1 St.Martin (Pieter, where did you get the 3-2 score from?)
26.5 St. Barthélemy 5-3 St. Maarten (St. Maarten played with a mix of senior and Under-20 players).

You also posted the wrong date (26.5, should be 29.4) - did you just invent the result and the date to confuse everyone? ;-)

The results and dates I posted above are from the St. Barthélemy FA Facebook page (newly set up).  I messaged them to see if they had any more details - they have read my message, but have not yet responded.  I couldn't find anything in St. Martin's Week (https://www.stmartinweek.fr/ - this paper used to be very good for football news from St. Martin).  The Sint Maarten match was reported in the Daily Herald - https://www.thedailyherald.sx/sports/lo ... 10-minutes.  St. Barth were 3-1 down and then scored 3 penalties in 10 minutes.

I don’t think they are playing Saint Martin this time around. Saint Martin is indeed playing two games in Saint Barth’s. From the Saint Barths Facebook page, it says both teams are playing two invited teams that will be announced soon. Unless something changes, I don’t think they are playing each other

Saint-Barthelemy vs Anguilla - this is interesting match, let's hope St. Barth win.

I hope Saint Barth will join CFU and Concacaf soon. Maybe they can play in last division of Concacaf Nations League in first season. Of course in qualifications they can't

First there'll be a qualifications for Concacaf Nations League, then there will be three leagues.
League A with 12 best teams
League B with 16 next teams
League C with 12 lowest teams form qualifications + Guatemala and maybe Saint-Barthelemy if they join CFU and Concacaf.

Of course there will be promotion/relegation every season like in UEFA Nations League
