Thread created in honour of the Faroe Islands national team, or more specifically their U17 men's side, who yesterday sealed qualification to the European Championships in Croatia this summer. Am I right in assuming this will be their first-ever appearance at a FIFA/UEFA tournament finals?

I wonder if they can "do an Iceland" in the finals and bring the entire population along to witness a giantkilling.

Who knows? Hope so at least, Iceland took about 10% of their population with them, in the extreme example of that being replicated then close to 5,000 Faroese folk will make the journey, which doesn't seem too likely.
But given that U17 tournaments don't generally attract hoardes of foreign fans, and how big a deal this must be for them, I could definitely see the Faroes being one of the best-supported teams there, in both numbers and potential to showcase a previously-unknown fan trend..
Also Croatia in almost-summer is probably a further incentive if you're into that 'hot weather' thing...
