Apparently, there was a match on 28th March 2008 between Bonaire and Aruba (this may have been an U-23 match), but I can't find any more information. I got information from someone who went to see the match, but left at half-time. He said that Bonaire looked like they were going to lose.

06.09.10 Bonaire U-20 1-1 Curaçao U-20 (AET, Curaçao won 5-3 on penalties) (@ Kralendijk, Bonaire). Bonaire apparently played for the first time in their Digicel-sponsored kit and their team was described as a "national team". Perhaps Bonaire will have a senior national team soon?

It seems Bonaire players are still eligible to represent Curaçao.
4 Bonairean players were recently in the Curaçao women's U-17 team for a CFU qualifying match in Guyana.
Also, about the postponed ABCS Tournament, Bonaire were going to send a club side (RCR) as they did not have a national team, but ultimately the tournament was cancelled anyway.

Feature: Profiling football in Bonaire

The Home of Caribbean Football explores the state of football in Bonaire, one of the smallest islands in the region, by speaking to those closely connected to the game there…

Bonaire is neither a Windward Island nor a Guiana. May I suggest moving this thread to a more suitable sub-forum?

Odd that Bonaire would "leapfrog" Curacao to play a game in Aruba.

In Amigoe of 30 May 1931 has a report of the first encounter between Aruba and Bonaire, Aruba won 3-1. The Bonairian football club (sic!) was established only three months earlier. No exact date and location are given. See https://resolver.kb.nl/resolve?urn=ddd: ... eg21:a0033

Amigoe of 25 November 1933 mentions the Bonairiaansche Voetbalbond (BVB, Bonairian Football Association) was established five months earlier, so june 1933. See https://resolver.kb.nl/resolve?urn=ddd: ... eg21:a0040

Amigoe of 10 June 1936 mentions the Curaçao club Ozama visiting Bonaire and playing versus a Bonaire selection twice. On Pentecost Sunday Bonaire won 2-0, on monday Bonaire won 3-0. See https://resolver.kb.nl/resolve?urn=ddd: ... eg21:a0043

So Vrolijk's book does not include the 1931 match then?  If so, presumably because it was pre-BVB ?
Again, it seems odd to me, surely Bonaire would have passed via Curacao to visit Aruba.

it was a Aruba club (Vitesse) that visited Bonaire in 1931 and won 1-3....

Thanks.  Seems like the book has things well covered.  I'd be quite keen to get a copy, but I think the cost will be unrealistic, considering that it is only the first part.  How much did it cost you in the end?

the second part has to be written, only the first part is available: 55€ (all costs included)

Does it have a separate appendix with statistics?
