Not that key. A key you found in the narrative. There was somewhere you couldn't access before, but if you go back there now, you can, and you'll find what you need...
Aha!  Thank you, even though I'd made notes I still forgot about that place!

Have now got the extra clues so next step is figuring out how to apply them :)

Have also got past 5 which is nice.  Instant impression of 6 is that it references back to some puzzles from previous incarnations of DR, wondering if that's the case or if it is standalone.  Haven't attempted to dive into it properly yet to find out though.

The left and center columns combined give you a letter, which give you a number. Then just use the numbers in the expressions to get numbers, which give you letters.

Either i have got the wrong letters from the left/middle part (but i feel comfident on almost everyone of them) or im inserting the right part (the figures) in to the equations the wrong way (could really use a hint on how that is done). I also feel like i get way to big numbers on some of the equations.

You're right; most of the numbers are way too big. As the text at the bottom says, you must % 26 them. (Look up computer code symbols if you don't know what the % means.)
