Thank you for the tut.
Re-Volt is the coolest game!
My favorite car is MONSTER T.D.T GT1!
And please take a look at my tracks from RVZT.
And please post your questions & other about Re-Volt on my forum: Revolt Live.

just got it working on Win7 so it should be the same for vista users to some extent...

First, Remove all spaces from the directory string.
IE: C://AcclaimEntertainment/Re-Volt or something similar WITHOUT SPACES, if there are Spaces, DELETE THEM.
Then go into your root dir for ReVolt and Create a Shortcut.
Then right click on the shortcut and select Properties. in the Directory line that ends in Re-Volt.exe put your space and your -sli line, click on compatibility and make it compat for win98Wouldpkr/Bubba_Zand check the box for always running as admin.

alot easier and much safer that screwing around in the damn registry to do the same thing.

Side not, i did try and get a multiplayer game going just now in RV House .... im suspecting it could be a Space in the Name issue as well because it made it all the way to the track selection screen and as soon as it loaded i got the "Cant Flip Buffers" message im sure many of you are familliar with by now. then it was just a black screen and i had to alt/tab out and kill the process.

Thats what was happening on single player mode before i removed the spaces from the dir string and put the -sli in it...

Good Luck!

hey hey hey....

Can't flip buffers means "can't allocate memory for Dx6's 3D models", that's normal for vista who don't support Dx6's structures (allocating Point in Z-axis in Full Screen mode)... and that's not because of strings [theory is impossible]

CRC error is fixed by removing space, that's true (command line sent is : Is revolt.exe legal? -> check CRC checksum by [Path] /directplayArguement)
and because it can't translate to DOS folders (C:\Program~1\Re-Vol~1\) [like in Win9x (98,95), this error happens, what fixes it is "setting compatibility mode to windows 98"

That's not all, now everything is fixed thanks to WolfR4
