Otoshimono
(Lost Things)

Composition & Arrangement: Akiko Shikata
Lyrics: Akiko Shikata
Vocals & Chorus: Akiko Shikata

otoshimono otoshimono
takeuma otedama magatsutama
ano hi nakushita niisama mo
matomete kaeshite kudashanse
Lost things, lost things!
Bamboo horses, beanbags, magatamas,
even the older brother I lost that day,
please give them all back to me.

otoshimono otoshimono
omamori katageta kireoabana
ano hi yobareta niisama wa
kemono to oyama ni kietetta
Lost things, lost things!
Charms, missing getas from a pair, plucked flowers,
my older brother who was called that day
disappeared in the mountain with the animals.

samishi koishi ya mune no uchi
matedokurasedo machibouke
naga no orusu wo itsumade mato ka
kon kon kogitsune ima ikutsu
With loneliness and sadness in my heart,
I waited for a long time, but it was all for naught.
When I started wondering when I would stop caring about it,
Bark-bark, there were now several baby foxes.

hasu no utena wa kotoshi mo hiraki
ake no torii wa sukoshi hage
hashira no kizu wa niisama koeta
The calyxes from the lotuses are opening this year again,
the red toriis have peeled off a little.
The scratches on the pillars have gotten higher than my brother.

todokemono todokemono
izayoi soramau kokonotsuno
chimata de uwasa no mononoke wa
too no niisama ikiutsushi
News, news!
When the sixteen-day-old moon dances on the sky over the ninth star of Tail,
a rumored specter appears on the streets,
an exact lookalike of my ten-year old brother.

emite shitataru kegare no kaori
yobite temaneku natsukashi no
hitotsu kawaranu koesugata
Smiling and dripping with the smell of dirt,
calling and beckoning me, his nostalgic
voice and face had not changed even a little.

yukite kaerenu higan tote
mune no utsuro ga uzumaru nara
dare ga togame do sakai wo koeyou
kon kon tobira ni mukae ga kita zo
Even if he was already going to the nirvana and couldn't come back,
if it could bury the emptiness in my heart,
I would cross the boundary regardless of who rebuked me.
Ding-dong, he came to welcome me at the door.

(Hyakkiyakou)
(Procession of Monsters and Spirits)

Composition & Arrangement: Akiko Shikata
Lyrics: Akiko Shikata
Vocals & Chorus: Akiko Shikata

choito komimi ni hasumu uwasa wa magamagashiya
tenka ourai ushimitsu toki ni ayashi no utage hajimaru
I happened to overhear a very ominous rumor,
that a bewitching banquet begins between 2 and 2:30 AM in the imperial streets

andon abura wo nekomata namete
kitsunebitachi ga yuurari
rokurokubi ni mikoshi ni tsukumogami soroeba
dai mo chou mo nagai mo odore utae asobe
The Nekomata that lick the oil from the paper lanterns,
the will-o'-wisps that drift about,
the Tsukugami overseen by the Rokurokubi. Once they are all gathered,
whether they are big, small or large, dance, sing, play!

hyakkiyakou yoru wo kakete wa
tsumi mo batsu mo mina kuratte kuratteyuke
henge jizai mukashi mo ima mo shinjitsu wa banji
yami no naka yabu no naka hara no naka
The procession of demons and spirits runs through the night,
everyone, eat, go and eat all, even the sins, even the punishments!
The truth about these apparitions themselves, long ago and now, is all
within the darkness, within the groves, within their stomachs.

are maa kashimashi kosuzumetachi souzoushiya
nishi mo higashi mo goten no naka mo torimono sagashi de oonigiwai
That is the bustle from noisy willow tits,
at the west, at the east, even in the imperial palace, search for the prisoners and make a large ruckus!

hitsuke no shoutai ten ka furaribi ka
haka wo abaku wa kasha ka mouryou ka
inochi yowaru wa iwami no kusuri ka
monoyami ka onryo ka urameshiya
No one knows if the true form of the arsons are the Ten or the Furaribi.
No one knows if what opens the tombs are the Kasha or all sorts of demons and spirits.
No one knows if what weakens the life force of people are the poisons from Iwami,
the sicknesses, or the Onryo, but they are all quite hateful.

hyakkiyakou miyako ni sukuu
uramitsurami mina waratte waratteyuke
zangemuyou hito no kokoro wa daremo haraemai
kurayami wo nozoku yatsua anafutatsu
The procession of demons and spirits nests in the city,
everyone, get drunk, go and get drunk on the grudges!
The hearts of those on which repentance is useless can never be exorcised by anyone,
those who gaze into the darkness will find themselves haunted.

kori ni makeji to mujina mo bakashiya
himamushinyuudou nounashi monogusa
karakasa narigama kameosa soroite
odoryanse narashanse
While they lose against the foxes and tanuki, the badgers are tricksters too.
The Himamushinyuudo are incompetent and lazy.
Gather together the Karakasa, Narigama, Kameosa
and then dance, screech!

kudan no yogen wa hyappatsu hyakkuchuu
ubume wa nekosogi akago wo ubaite
nue ni itsumade an'ya wo nakinaki
te no me todomeki manako wo gorogoro
waira otoroshi shoukera hyousube
The Kudan's predictions are always infallible,
the Ubume steals all the babies she comes across,
the Nue and the Itsumade keep screeching at the dark night,
the eyes in the hands of the Todomeki keep rolling around,
and if they are starving, you will be eaten.

ikasama takurami satori ga misukashi
tenka ni shirashime kyoutendouchi
rinki no jashin ga jatai to narihate
ana nikushiya kubiryanse
All the trickery and schemes are seen through by the Satori,
as it makes known all sort of startling facts through the world.
The evil hearts possessed by jealousy will be reduced to Jatai,
ah hate, strangle them!

(Kaguya)

Composition & Arrangement: Akiko Shikata
Lyrics: Akiko Shikata & Tomoko Shinoda
Vocals & Chorus: Akiko Shikata

ima wa tote ama no hagoromo kiru wo rizo
kimi wo aware to omoidekeru
And now must she don the Feather Robe
and mournly bid her lord farewell.

--[Quote by Kaguyahime from the classical Japanese tale [Taketori Monogatari]--

kagayakeru wa juugoya no tsuki yo
imada kageru wa utsurou omoi
kokoro kagerou enishi ito wo
izaya tatan to izanau hagoromo
Oh resplendent moon from a full moon night.
What still clouds you are spreading feelings,
The Celestial Feather Robe invites you now
to cut off the strings of fate clouding your heart.

kagayou hime wa tamayura no hana yo
sarazu sarazu no sadame no mama ni
amatsu sora koe tsuki e matsurau
mukashigatari yo tooku tokiwa e
Oh shining princess, you are a fleeting flower.
Without avoiding or escaping from your fate,
You cross beyond the heavens while yielding to the moon.
Oh ancient story, go on beyond the faraway eternity.

Never more to see her! Tears of grief overwhelm me, and as for me,
with the Elixir of Life, what have I to do?

--[Quote by the Emperor from the classical Japanese tale [Taketori Monogatari]--

kagayakeru wa mujou no tsuki yo
kanashi kanashi to zawameku omoi
kieyuku hime no nagori no kiseki ga
yoru no manima ni kira ni hirameku
Oh shining merciless moon.
Sadness and love are both rustling feelings.
The remaining sorrow of parting left by the vanishing princess
will glitter in splendorous radiance the space of the night.

kaerishi hito yo
  ima wa izuko
kaze wa sayaka ni nakinurete
hana wa aware to sasayakite
hoshi wa kogane ni mabatakite
chiyo no wakare wo miokuran
Oh one who descended from the heavens.
Join with, join with and pass through the times.
Oh one who is going back.
Even now you are going somewhere.
The wind is freshly crying and weeping.
The flowers are whispering in admiration.
The starts are twinkling like gold.
We will now go and see this eternal farewell.

furui kottoya no oku de sotto yumemiteta
tatta hitori no dareka ni deaeru kiseki wo
Deep inside an old antique store, I dreamt of something.
About a miracle of having met a single someone.

Adorning the beckoning cat as if it were a hina doll
  (Even the large cuckoo clock)
Everyone is departing
  (Before I even notice it)
But to the room that started expanding
  (A certain day)
You came at last.

totsuzen no deai wa kaze no you
taikutsu no nichijou fukitobashi
That sudden encounter blew away
the days of boredom like a gust of wind.

ajisai komichi ni umore nozoita fuukei
doko ka natsukashii torii no shushoku ga nijinda
I saw a scene buried in the hydrangea alley,
a torii colored in red that felt nostalgic to me, as if I had seen it somewhere before.

suzunari no negai wo dakishimete
nandodemo kimi to te wo tsunagi inorou
Embracing my overflowing wishes,
I'll pray so I can join hands with you many more times.

Always being together is the beauties of nature,
and that let me welcome a future for the two of us.
Being together will surely let me get interested on everything
and enjoy this changing world.

Composition & Arrangement: Akiko Shikata
Lyrics: Akiko Shikata
Vocals & Chorus: Akiko Shikata

One, imprisoned all on its own in One jail.
Two, the many feelings in its heart are made into Two parts.

Three, the crescent moon shining outside the lattice's Three bars.
Four, in dreams, in reality, being called Four times.

How exquisite. Even if those possessed by the souls, either of the gods or departed,
imprison you, hide you away and even steal away your time,
spread open your folded wings.
Oh bird in the cage, oh bird unable to chirp, how farther will you keep clawing at the ground?

Until the moon that wanes away
disappears soon, just cover your ears until you close them off.
Laugh, but still don't stop that voice of yours
that flows and falls to become whispers

Nine, the fingertips that you extended
Just continue dancing in the Nine emptinesses.
Ten, the exit is within the void,
Your bond with this world is also Tending to go away.

Seiran
(Indigo Blue)

Composition & Arrangement: Akiko Shikata
Lyrics: Wataru Hano
Vocals & Chorus: Akiko Shikata

fujinami no hanamede
yuku tori no ne wa sayaka ni
kusamakura tabi no tochuu
The loving wisteria flowers that sway in the wind
and the sounds of the flying birds can be clearly heard
as I sleep on the grass in the midst of my journey.

shinshin to yamaji wo
hototogizu tomonishite
gokure yori aogi mireba
As I cross the steep and deep mountain paths,
I look upwards from the shade of the trees
along with the lesser cuckoos. And when I do...

shukushuku to shukushuku to sora wo somete
seisei to seisei to me ni mo irodori ni
hisakata no seiran
The sky is silently and quietly colored
and my eyes are refreshed and relieved by a color:
the indigo blue of the firmament.

kokorozashi mukau wa
tamashiki no miyako e to
tattoshi yume wo sagashite
What has set my heart to go down this path
and head off to the splendid capital
is that I am looking for a precious dream.

shukushuku to shukushuku to sora wo somete
seisei to seisei miyo wo tatae
seiran no kanata e
The sky is silently and quietly colored
Oh, may the imperial reign be refreshingly and relievingly praised
to beyond the indigo blue!

And that's all. Next I think I'll try getting one of Shimotsuki's albums done, as there's nothing I can do about caTra or rosTa due to them both using conlangs and not having any translations of any sort for them available.

Hey Aqua, I might have found a... not necessarily a typo, but rather a peculiarity on page 7: Hidamari no Ori
I'm listening along and:

yoake no naki tokoyami no kuni
shijima kara koboreta hi ga
terashita hidamari no kioku
kizudarake no karada wo nazoru

It sounds as if Haruka sings seijaku kara as opposed to shijima kara.
My expertise in google translate pronounces 静寂から零れた灯が as shijima but she pronounces seijaku nonetheless.

The same goes for tamashii -> kokoro, aishiki -> mitushiki, shounen -> ninkyou

Thanks for the hard work on all of these!

Edit: I cannot find Illuminating a Promise from Tindharia no Kanade and the original Tindharia no Tane anywhere, is it posted elsewhere or not? Cheers.
