Roland: Just a quick question

Roland: Just a quick question

Was reading over the entire NWN board, reliving some of the fun from last summer and re-read your "Bioware Goes to Hell" thread.

My question is this: Geoff Frazier. Simply, I've seen him do much worse than that. He works for Blizzard. He's also the most (sometimes only) vocal of the Blizzard Employees online. That includes his neo-conservative webpage, his use of "gay" as "stupid" (which caused quite a stir over at the LL), and his elitist attitude (check his "Major Accomplishments" part of ). You've said you're most likely going to buy WoW and Frozen Throne. So, simply, what's the difference?

This isn't meant to be an attack or anything, maybe you know/think something I don't. I just personally don't understand it.

You're getting sloppy.

Quite simply (as I already stated, more than once): that incident with Bioware (which may have ended up being a tad over-blown; been too long, and I really haven't though about it - I have better things to do with my time) was from a programmer. Someone who has direct influence on the game. Geoff Frazier is a webmaster. Nothing more. He's also probably PAYED to be that vocal, or at the very least appointed (even if it's self-appointed) to be that vocal. I do not respect GF at all, nor will I ever. But there's a difference between taking stock in those who MAKE the games, and those who simply write about them.

Fair enough? Next time, drop an e-mail.

Guess my brain has been shut off since school stopped. Anyway, thanks for the answer, even if I'm not sure I agree with it.

...that could've been sent via e-mail.

Sorry, j/k but I couldn't resist, plus I have nothing better to do ATM.

Waiting for the Barbarians

What are we waiting for, assembled in the forum?

The barbarians are to arrive today.

Why such inaction in the Senate?
Why do the Senators sit and pass no laws?

Because the barbarians are to arrive today.
What laws can the Senators pass any more?
When the barbarians come they will make the laws.

Why did our emperor wake up so early,
and sits at the greatest gate of the city,
on the throne, solemn, wearing the crown?

Because the barbarians are to arrive today.
And the emperor waits to receive
their chief. Indeed he has prepared
to give him a scroll. Therein he inscribed
many titles and names of honor.

Why have our two consuls and the praetors come out
today in their red, embroidered togas;
why do they wear amethyst-studded bracelets,
and rings with brilliant, glittering emeralds;
why are they carrying costly canes today,
wonderfully carved with silver and gold?

Because the barbarians are to arrive today,
and such things dazzle the barbarians.

Why don't the worthy orators come as always
to make their speeches, to have their say?

Because the barbarians are to arrive today;
and they get bored with eloquence and orations.

Why all of a sudden this unrest
and confusion. (How solemn the faces have become).
Why are the streets and squares clearing quickly,
and all return to their homes, so deep in thought?

Because night is here but the barbarians have not come.
And some people arrived from the borders,
and said that there are no longer any barbarians.

And now what shall become of us without any barbarians?
Those people were some kind of solution.
