'Scuse my ignorance but this is my first year of having a pond. I have noticed lots of water snails in it. Are they good? Do they eat the plants? I'm used to thinking of snails as a pest.

Thanks Scotia. Don't think there's more than 1 for every square half foot so should be OK for the time being. I like the suggested method of catching them!
