Sunflowers....

Is this normal?
Our sunflowers grew way over 16 feet (and remember the alien one too?)
Once they died off we dead headed them, cut them down and this is the result, a bunch of 8 tiny flowers on one stem

I think that's brilliant - I didn't get a 16 footer this year but I think it's worth sacrificing one or two to see if they 'come again' like yours - I think they're stunning! Laurel

Laurel....I had similar phen..pheno...phenom...phenomenon(never could say that word)on my lottie last year except that it was the high wind that broke it off and it reflowered simliar to yours.Looking at your piccy,it was the same variety too.Nice surprise eh?,.......Bigal

Not exactly like your Louisa but some sunflowers I grew had a few little flowers off the side.. But never after cutting off the top..

Wow lucky you! My little boy planted his first sunflower seeds in March - he got a 12 and an 11 footer!
