Today I 'ave been mostly up to my armpits in water! Went to a local water garden centre today. Had been intending to wait until the pond surround was complete, but couldn't wait any longer (you know how it is )
This is what happened next:

Plants are (clockwise starting with the red one)
Lobelia Cardonalis Queen Victoria
Juncus Ensifolius
Equisetum Hyemale
Ranunculus Aquatilis (Water Crowfoot)
Hydrocotyle Vulgaris
Stratoides Aloides (Water Soldier)
Nymphaea Snow Princess Miniature
And a couple of bunches of eloda thingie (no labels, can't you just tell? )
After that my budget was wiped out, could have spent a small fortune.
I had not much idea what I was looking at so just went for what I fancied and checked with the lady in the shop that I didn't have anything unsuitable. She reckoned I chose well.
They had some lovely fish there too. I think I'll get a couple of pretty shubunkin in a few weeks' time when the plants have settled.
So far I'm really pleased with it. Should look good with the surround completed and lots of natural looking pots and containers arranged around. Will be nice to have somewhere to sit by it.
You can just about see the little cascade. I shall have a fiddle with this once the surround is done and might have it trickling out of a pot on its side or something.
Enough rambling. It's been a good day.

Oh , Goody !
I like it , Sal .And I think having the water come out of a pot turned on it's side is perfect !
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Lovely! And I do like Shubunkins. I'm so excited on your behalf, Sal!
Sushi seems to be settling in nicely - except she clearly doesn't much like the food that's on offer here!
