Iris help please
I have been told Dutch iris flower (here in Britain) in early June.

I cant find the name or species "Dutch Iris" in any gardening book so far. Asked a bulb supplier and he was very dismissive!

I'm sure someone here can advise me

a) another name for them

b) when they flower

c) are they really not attractive!

Hi Mara

Dutch Iris flower between mid-April and June. They are part of the IRIDACEAE family, which also includes freesia and gladioli.

Here's a site which sells Dutch Iris, there are also a few piccies, so you can see how pretty they are!

Cant say a lot more than Ligs has already said, but they are wonderful. One of my favourites and I can never have enough of
them.

cant find clarebulbs
thank you both so much for your replies.

I tried to open www.clarebulbs.co.uk, Liggsy - but my machine cant find it.

If you do happen to remember the latin name for Dutch irises - like it might be kaempferi, or laevigata or summat ? I could chase round a bit more.

They flower the right time so I'd really like to track down these fellas!

Thank you!

Well they are right Liggy. The dutch iris are hybrids of the
