Does anyone know why some of my crocus are keeling over as they start to open? It's not all of them and it's happening to those in planters as well as in the ground. Could birds or mice be the cause?

Birds probably as they like to peck at the petals in particular the yellow ones - I don't know why they do this.Peter

Funnily enough it does seem to be the yellow ones .
I was going to put that in my post but thought you might think me daft.
Thanks Peter and Rosie. I'll be having words with the sparrows tomorrow

My mauve ones in the back garden are the ones that are drooping.
I've never had any of mine do this before.
My yellow ones are fine.

Maybe its to do with what we call saffron, could be its sweet and full of goodies for the birds (usually tits)

This happens to my ones in pots, but not the ones in the ground for some reason, although they are the same

My yellow ones are keeling over too - it is the birds as the flowers have bits missing and I saw a couple of sparrows around them. I don't know we feed them and the do this
