About newbies. If the links to this site are not easy, there will not be new traffic. How can we make it so? I am not an IT expert, so I am not sure, but we need newbies.

It is a multi-faceted problem.

Firstly, unless there are links on other sites and keywords embedded in the code on this site for the search engines to pick up, there is little chance we will attract newbies.

Secondly, if a new quitter does find this place, there are not enough people here to provide adequate support. There are a few folks who come here that have long-term quits and that is good - however peer support from others who are also newbies is crucial.

People have tried starting other boards and they get minimal support from the people here for a short while, and it peters out too.

I don't have an answer. I suppose we muust just keep on keeping on. Donald used to say "Don't look back because you're not going that way". Well that may be true but Blairsville was much better back in the day.

Makes me sad every time I think of it.

Please know I am so grateful for your support n many others here. I treasure my quit n all that has come with it. It`s wonderful to save many lives but a priveledge to save just 1. When sad please think how I have been saved - physically, emotionally, spiritually - thanks in no small part by our phone conversation a decade ago. Kathyb

Hi Kathy and everyone

Aside from Blairsville no longer reaching out to new quitters, I am also concerned that Blair will just close this place down.

I have reactivated the QuitSmokingHelp Forum. I will be adding information and links regularly. Hopefully it will attract some new people and also be a place where we can all convene should Blairsville ever shut down.

thanks Bob. I just wish we could do something to ask Blair to get the links going again for BV. Makes me sad as I would not have stayed quit I don't think without this place. Thanks for being here and caring Bob.

I don't mean to be judgmental but it really does appear that Blair's interest is focused on sales rather than support - too bad.

Check out his websitehttp://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/ and you can form your own opinion.
