The closest google view is about 20 feet too close, here :

ANOTHER camera was there, behind Alvarado (and the other) to the right a bit further... and was included in a popular documentary like the other two.

I think America Remembers was a lot closer; google here.
This is a screen cap showing two points of reference for support:

Here are all three: America Remembers, Center of the World, and Alvarado

Here is a whole bunch of sight lines for support; the blue lines are for Alvarado, the pink lines are World, and the green are Remembers (from when the camera turned and ran away):

CBS9 was shot near Extra Place, Manhattan; Google here.
Here is a screen shot from the video:

The area around the camera position seems to have been completely rebuilt. Here is an older satellite view looking west showing the lines of sight I used:

So, imo, CBS9 was shot along E 2nd St west of 2nd Ave.
Sorry I can’t be more exact than that.

PS: I just noticed some color coding errors on my part. Sorry about that.

Rediscovered stock footage from the WABC camera that appears to have shot this WTC 2 collapse footage below the towers -- but (UPDATE/EDIT) Quantumflux432 said he saw the missing part 3, which was different WABC collapse footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flbZzRwYz40

-- See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzDWPXIQNbY at 1:20 when smoke rises from the base of the towers. Thanks 911Polska for the find. Of course that video was taken down when 911PL was axed. :( -- But I ripped it! Ha!

The clip called “C*N*N unknown from East”(view here) seems to have been shot from the South Street Viaduct

In the early part of the clip, some people were huddled along the façade of 45 Peck Slip
