23rdBeat Post Show Press Conference

Shortly after the shocking conclusion of Twenty Third Beat on iPPV Jonathan Swift held his first press conference as the new General Manager of Wild Hearts, and naturally before taking any questions he gave an update on Bella Quinn and Nina Wagner’s conditions. According to Swift Nina was banged up from the match but she doesn’t appear to have any injuries, and Bella is on her way to a local hospital to get some tests but she was answering questions and she is able to move her limbs. Jonathan Swift called the main event ending reverse Frankensteiner to the floor one of the scariest things he’s ever seen in wrestling, because not only was he worried about Bella and Nina’s safety he also thought that he’d be starting his new job with two of the promotions top stars taken out.
  • This isn’t official because Jonathan hasn’t talked to either woman yet, but given the inconclusive result of tonight’s Lioness of Wrestling title match Swift wants to run a rematch between Nina and Bella as the main event for 24thBeat on June 17. That show will be taking place in New York from the Barclays Center and Swift thinks the rematch is the biggest title match they can run at the moment.
  • This is also not official yet for the same reason, but for Wild Hearts April 22 “Comeback Stage” from South Korea Swift is hoping to put together Nina Wagner, Julie Chan, and Meiko vs. Bella Quinn, Jesminder Kanal, and Theressa VDM as the main event. He claimed they are close on finalizing the card and teased a new match type they will be debuting, calling it an exciting new take on a familiar concept.
  • Jonathan refused to weigh in on the kick out controversy between Julie and Jesminder, calling it a close call either way and stating that he stands by the ruling of the official in the match. Someone asked about Jess possibly appealing the ruling and Swift said that she could try, but he doesn’t believe it would change anyone’s mind about the match, and he indirectly advised Jess that taking a rematch with Julie would be a better way to settle it.
  • Swift confirmed that Emily Hart’s appearance was NOT a one off and that she has signed a new deal, and as a former headliner he’s excited to have Emily back in the company.
  • Someone asked Jonathan Swift about the Finnish Fury’s situation and he claimed that there was no pressure on her to leave, he called Fury a very gifted prospect and an asset to any brand she competes on and the door is open for her to return when she feels ready.
  • For interfering in the Twin Hearts title match Lux Wilde will receive a fine (of an undisclosed amount) and Lola and Rachel will not be awarded their win bonuses, and he added that the Brilliant Pair challenging Lola and Lux for the titles is one time only and it’ll be at 24thBeat.

Comeback Stage in Korea Full Card Reveal

On April 22 Wild Hearts returns to Seoul with a loaded card from the 5,400 seat Jangchung Gymnasium, and in a major step towards establishing the brand in South Korea the show will be televised live on MBC Sports Plus! The five match card features the hottest feuds and a first time ever pairing in the main event, a champion vs. champion clash, a brand new concept match, and a bona fide joshi legend making a rare appearance outside of Japan!

Main Event Six Woman Tag
Nina Wagner, Meiko, Julie Chan
vs. Bella Quinn, Jess Kanal, Theresa VDM
  • For the first time three women who have held the Lioness of Wrestling title will team up in a match bringing together the hottest ongoing rivalries in Wild Hearts, and if that’s not exciting enough for the first time since 2013 Nina and Meiko will compete together as teammates! The California Cutie and the Unchained Tiger’s rivalry is perhaps THE most storied in Wild Hearts history, but with Julie Chan playing the role of peacemaker they will try to set their differences aside for one night to take on three of the baddest women in the company. Bella, Jess, and the monster Theressa all have their differences with each of their three opponents, and Bella especially should be out for revenge after Ninawags tried to end her career at 23rdBeat.

No DQ 23rdBeat Rematch
Ata Tatupu & WRATH
vs. Emily Hart & Suzy Conrad
  • After nearly three years away Emily Hart made her shocking return to Wild Hearts as Suzy Conrad’s mystery partner, and the return was especially shocking to Ata and WRATH considering they were Emily’s closest friends before she disappeared completely. The match was ended in a disqualification but thankfully everyone wants to run it back, and this time there will be NO disqualifications! There are actually a lot of bad, scary people in Wild Hearts but it’s hard to think of anyone nastier than Suzy, more psychological than Emily, or more tough and rugged than WRATH and the PRW Undisputed Champion Ata Tatupu.

Random (1/3) Battle
Gemma, Monica, Delilah
vs. Alice, Hanna, Marissa
  • The Wild Tiger Fight Team and the Alliance fought each other to a double count out at 23rdBeat and the feud is nowhere close to being settled, and at Comeback Stage the two teams will go at it again in a brand new match type! The “Random Battle” is a series of one on one matches with one woman chosen at random representing each team at a time. Before the match begins the wrestlers will be draw a number (1/2/3 for each team) and those numbers will decide who competes when every two minutes new numbers are called at random, and the match will go on until the FIRST fall is scored!

Champion vs. Champion
Rachel Langley & Nebraska Jones
vs. Lola & Lux Wilde
  • The Brilliant Pair were screwed out of another chance to finally win the Twin Hearts titles when Lux ran interference after letting everyone believe she was hundreds of miles away, and finally fed up with the cheating and antics that have been tarnishing her championship reign Rachel pulled herself out of the rematch. At 24thBeat Lola and Lux (for the first time officially) will defend the Twin Hearts against Nebraska and Cassandra, but before then the twins will get a test when they take on longtime friends Rachel and Nebraska!

Hunan TV Title Match
Valencia Del Rey
vs. Aja Kong
  • Valencia Del Rey has wanted to set herself apart as a get in get out take on all comers fighting champion, and in the opening match of the night she will get her toughest challenge to date from the iconic heavyweight monster Aja Kong! The Japanese legend was already a veteran by the time Valencia was born, but age has only made her wiser and in fact Kong has already taken a title from a woman half her age this year. But while many would be afraid to take this matchup VDR jumped at the opportunity when it was offered, she has already proven her warrior spirit and now she has the chance to take down a legend!

Hearts & Seoul

Julie Chan has taken Nina Wagner up on her invitation to hang out a little further north in So Cal, and over lunch at a restaurant the reigning Lioness of Wrestling is giving the former champion some cultural tips before Wild Hearts’ April trip to South Korea. Nina tells Julie about the (many) honorific titles for people and how they need to be extra respectful to anyone older, to their fans, and to any producers and managers they’ll work with, and after Julie nervously laughs at how much there is to keep in mind and Nina jokes with her to just “be cute and remind them you’re foreign” if she gets into trouble. Julie talks about the pressure she felt to make the right impression when Wild Hearts first started promoting in China before asking Nina how she feels being in a similar position, and Ninawags admits to feeling a lot of pressure because she’s going there as the face of the company, and because Wild Hearts is still trying to break in to the Korean market she’s worried that if she personally isn’t appealing enough then the company won’t grow past the level it’s at now. Julie Chan agrees that’s a lot of pressure for Nina to have on her shoulders but she’s confident that Nina will do a great job, half-sarcastically saying that if she (Julie) could be the face of Wild Hearts in China and NOT screw it up then Nina can make Korea their next hot territory. Getting more serious, Julie points out that Nina was a station above her when she debuted in wrestling so she followed Nina’s career very closely, she tried to learn from Nina’s successes and struggles and in a way, even though Nina is younger than her, Julie says that Nina has always been a role model to her, and if there’s any wisdom she can give to Nina about representing the company overseas all Nina has to do is ask. From hearing Julie confess all of that it looks like Ninawags is going to start tearing up, but thankfully Julie breaks the tension (and shows that she’s learning) by telling Nina “I know you can do this. Nina fighting!”

Eventually the conversation turns to the topic of Nina and Julie’s main event in Seoul, where they will be teaming with the former “Tigress of Wrestling” Meiko against the next title challenger Bella Quinn, Jesminder Kanal, and the Dutch Destroyer Theressa VDM, and Nina admits that she has issues with the booking. Apparently Jonathan Swift wasn’t lying when he said he hadn’t discussed the match with the wrestlers before floating it out there to the public, and Nina confesses to Julie that if he had she would’ve turned it down. Nina says that she’s uncomfortable with the idea of teaming with Meiko given their history, explaining that even if she can trust Meiko not to betray her at some point in the ring she still has a hard time getting over how Meiko tried to make her life hell. Julie asks Nina why she agreed to it then and Nina admits that after she saw how excited their fans got for the matchup she felt like she couldn’t turn it down, telling Julie that she put her feelings aside on this one to give the fans what they want. Julie understands where Nina is coming from because she felt the same way about Meiko when she first went out to San Diego to train with Delilah Hansen, admitting that part of her was even afraid she was getting set up. But now Julie believes that the Wild Tigers don’t care that much anymore about what she did or what Nina did because they have to be focused on the Alliance, and Julie tries to reassure Nina that if Meiko still hates her then it’s second to how much more she hates the Alliance. Considering who their opponents are Julie says that both Meiko and herself want to win this match as badly as Nina does, and she can’t imagine that Meiko will do anything to put them in jeopardy. With a sigh Nina admits that she actually kind of agrees BUT she still doesn’t like Meiko, and she warns Julie that she’s not going to have much patience for the Wild Tigers’ bullshit. Julie cringes and nods and promises Nina that she’ll use any sway she has with them to make sure they play nice, and before taking a drink Nina says that she hopes Julie is right about this.

Wild Hearts Stars on Weekly Idol Recap

Wild Hearts Comeback Stage on MBC Sports+ is this Saturday, and as part of their promotions for the live event headliners Nina Wagner, Julie Chan, and Meiko stopped by the world famous third level basement set to appear on an episode of Weekly Idol, a long running variety show hosted by comedian Doni and rapper Defconn. The MCs and the wrestlers were all equipped with earpieces to receive translations, and after introducing their guests the hosts joked about it being like the UN. Nina Wagner gave a special introduction to the viewers in Korean but the MCs acted like they couldn’t understand her, they asked her to say it again and she did with a smile, and on the second time the MCs “got it” and praised Nina for memorizing her introduction word for word. To get them back Nina said that a lot of their fans in America will want to watch this and she challenged the MCs to give them a greeting in English, and after asking who was running the show here they played along. The MCs plugged the date and airtime for Comeback Stage from Jangchung Gymnasium and then asked Wild Hearts fans in Korea to sell the building out so Nina, Meiko, and Julie won’t get punished, and using posters of the other wrestlers they showed the viewers their opponents in the main event. Nina said something about her idol turned rival Bella Quinn, Julie Chan talked about her teammate turned rival Jesminder Kanal, and when the MCs showed the poster of Theressa VDM they just flipped out at how big she is. Doni asked the trio how they’re supposed to beat this woman when she’s as big as all of them put together, and Meiko answered simply “we’re better than them.”

The MCs asked the guests if they have a team name and they kind of awkwardly tried to explain that they haven’t teamed up before, “and in fact” Defconn pointed out Nina and Meiko actually fought each other the last time they had a show in Korea. Nina talked about her history with Meiko and how that makes this a very rare match to see, and to that point Defconn (he always does he research) also brought up how Julie Chan and Meiko have had their own fights in the past, and he asked how they can come together and hope to win. Julie said that “a mutual friend” helped smooth things over between her and Meiko and explained that despite their past battles Meiko, Nina, and her all have a ton of respect for each other, and because their opponents are extra bad people they are even more driven to work together. The MCs call that sentiment inspiring and wish the women luck right before trying to divide them by asking who is the best wrestler between them, and Julie, Meiko, and Nina each tried to politely argue why they are the best. Of course Nina Wagner is the champion and that speaks for itself, but Julie respectfully pointed out that she beat Meiko before Nina did just to raise the question, and Meiko claimed that she’s still better than both of them technically and they can’t argue that. They tried to though and obviously they weren’t going to get close to an agreement so the MCs called for peace before a match broke out in the studio, and while they couldn’t determine the best wrestler today they could find out who was the best dancer… with Weekly Idol’s signature Random Play Dance challenge!

In the Random Play Dance challenge idol groups attempt to do the right choreography to segments of their own songs played at random with both prizes and punishment at stake, but for the wrestlers the challenge was just to jump in when they thought they knew the choreo. The best dancer as determined by the MCs would get to eat some premium Korean beef grilled on the set, and the worst dancer would get hit on the head with a squeaky toy hammer. Amazingly the translation the North American girls got must’ve left out the “toy” part because Julie was ready to protest, and she laughed at herself when she saw the toy hammer. Before the challenge began the MCs asked the wrestlers who the best dancer is between them and both Julie and Nina pointed to Meiko, getting a laugh from the MCs for how unanimous they were. The challenge started with popular enough songs that Meiko and Nina seemed to know pretty well (for just being fans at least) but Julie only knew a move or two from a few of them, she mostly was trying to do what she saw Meiko doing and Doni and Defconn called her out for it. Meiko seemed to know a few more dances than Nina did and the MCs took notice of how into the challenge she was, especially during TWICE songs when they said she transformed from “scary” to cute and when that got translated to her Meiko almost lost track of the choreo from laughing. The challenge came down to Meiko and Nina and that meant that Julie had to get hit with the hammer, she asked if it would hurt and the MCs said it would just be a little bop on the head, but then of course Doni hit her with it full force and Julie started laughing. Defconn raised the tension for the winner reveal by letting the hungry wrestlers sniff the cooked BBQ, and as predicted the MCs named dancing queen Meiko the winner!

Ninawags sighed and clapped her hands while Meiko celebrated her victory and sold how delicious the food was when she took a bite, and the MCs suggested that to help build their team unity she could share the food with her teammates. Meiko thought about it and then said that she would share her food but Julie and Nina had to earn it… and she popped the MCs by saying she wanted to see Nina and Julie do aegyo (a type of over the top cuteness). Nina openly cringed and Meiko teased her with a bite to eat, and for their aegyo challenge the MCs asked for Nina and Julie to lip synch to the viral Oppaya clip. The wrestlers saw the clip and laughed and cringed and Julie said that she might not be hungry anymore, but everyone encouraged her and Julie popped the room by going for it! Julie looked like she wanted to try after finishing and Meiko rewarded her with some BBQ, the MCs tried to pump Nina up for the challenge by pointing at how cute she is naturally, and with a sigh Ninawags transformed into her aegyo self to a road warrior pop in the third level basement! Meiko almost cried from laughing and she gave Nina TWO pieces of meat, and to get her back Julie Chan said she wanted to see Meiko do the Oppaya song! The MCs popped and called for Meiko to do it but she tried to beg off and claimed that she doesn’t have aegyo, but they saw it when she was dancing and Doni actually took the BBQ away from Meiko, holding hostage until she did the song. The Unchained Tiger hung her head in shame and then did pouty aegyo when the song started, and she killed everyone with her shocking cuteness! Julie gave her a hug while Nina applauded her and the MCs marveled at how cute even tough wrestlers can be, and with no time left in the episode Doni and Defconn thanked the girls for coming on the show and plugged Comeback Stage one more time, and Nina said another message in Korean asking the fans to watch the show and saying she hopes to hear a sold out crowd cheering for her, Julie, and Meiko.

Comeback Stage Post Show Special

We begin with a fun recap video of Wild Hearts’ return to Seoul South Korea, including clips from Nina Wagner, Meiko, and Julie Chan’s promotional activites to highlights of the action and excitement at the Comeback Stage event, and the first segment of this video catches up with the victorious trio shortly after returning backstage from the main event. Nina, Julie, and Meiko are all tired and beat up but they are in high spirits after triumphing over the rivals and escaping a post match demolition, and while a friendly Julie has her arm over Meiko’s shoulder Nina is keeping her distance from her former rival. As casually as possible the California Cutie thanks Meiko for the assist on the finish and for “not doing what I was afraid you were going to do,” and Big Win Meiko hits Nina with an eye roll before telling her in a hard deadpan that she didn’t turn on her because “I think I have a shot at becoming a celebrity over here.” It feels like the two are ready to go back to hating each other but Julie Chan speaks up in a desire to potentially mend fences, reminding them both how “nobody” thought they’d be able to work together well enough to beat the other team, but they did and they sent the crowd home happy and Julie points out that the fans here, “maybe not back home, but here” were happy because they stood together.

Julie doesn’t expect Nina and Meiko to suddenly “or even try” to become friends from this but she says, if even for just one day, they can at least be happy with what they managed to accomplish together. Julie’s words either have an effect or both women are willing to humor her and Ninawags offers the first olive branch, admitting that deep down a part of her was exited to team with Meiko because she hasn’t forgotten that Meiko, more than anyone else, made her a stronger woman and a better wrestler. Meiko sighs and says that she hopes Nina holds onto the title because she’s coming for her when this business with the Alliance is done, but aside from wanting to win the title back from her Meiko admits that she’s actually proud of Nina because of what she’s accomplished in the last year, calling Nina “a real champion” before extending a hand to her! Nina hesitates at the offer of a handshake and even gives a little look over her shoulder for the other Wild Tigers, and Julie tries not to openly pop when Nina shakes Meiko’s hand! It’s an uncomfortable but important moment for both parties, but the champion of cool breaks the tension by saying “I hope someone Photoshops the shirt on me.”

Suzy Conrad is doing soju bombs (!) somewhere else backstage and trying to get sweet with some perplexed Korean boy band members while Emily Hart paces around with something on her mind by the looks of it, and after Suzy goes from talking up their big win together to trying to set up a group date (!) Emily just grabs a bottle of soju and goes somewhere to be alone. One of the guys asks (in English) if Emily is ok and Suzy tells them not to worry about her, saying if Emily doesn’t want to “hang with the booooiiiiis” then that’s her problem. With a big palm rub Suzy asks if the dudes are ready to take the party to her hotel room and they ALL quickly come up with excuses to leave, leaving Suzy putting her hands up with a scoff.

We then find Emily Hart leaning against a wall in some dark corridor of the arena with the bottle she took and she tries to pour the liquor out on the floor, but nothing comes out. She tells us it’s empty and then drops the bottle (!) but it’s plastic and it just bounces, and Emily says that it’s fake too “just like all of this.” The Hartbreaker says that she flew half way around the world for a REAL fight but once again she was left disappointed by Ata and Sofia, even though she won she’s feeling empty, and she asks how she’s supposed to feel alive when beating them is just so easy. Emily expected her opponents to fight harder than they did the first time but (she claims) they showed her nothing extra, SHE came to fight but everyone else was just out there doing what they always do, and she’s starting to worry that she made a mistake coming back if no one she faces can live up to the hype. Only Cassie Rial has given Emily what she’s been looking for but she points out that she had to pull that fire out of Cassie, she had to bend and prod Cassandra until they found her breaking point and instead of breaking Cassie she awoke something special in the girl. Now Emily is thinking that she’ll have to do it again to bring something out of her “friends,” but, Emily suggests, maybe it would be more fun to just break them instead.

The Wilde Twins are in the middle of cutting a promo about their first official Twin Hearts title defense with each other at 24thBeat, and naturally they’re bragging on Nebraska and Rachel for beating them earlier in the night. They claim that tonight proves they don’t need to cheat to win because they, the two of them together and NOT the tandem of Lola and Rachel, “and definitely NOT the Brilliant Geeks,” are the best tag team in Wild Hearts, saying they’ve been a tag team ever since they came out of the womb. Lola tells Rachel not to worry about her and Lux defending the titles in Brooklyn because they are going to end the Brilliant Pair’s dreams of becoming champions once and for all, but Lux says that maybe Rachel SHOULD worry because “I might not Freebird the belt back to ya.” And speaking OF Rachel it looks like there could be some trouble as she comes stomping in to have a word with Lux and Lola. Lola gets ready to say something at Rachel’s expense but Rach legit just tells her to shut up and listen, telling them she only has one thing to say and she wants them to hear her out.

Lola and Lux both cross their arms like a human mirror reflection as Rachel starts telling them just how important being a champion is to her, including how it’s the payoff of her years of hard work and how it validates the sacrifices she makes as an athlete, and according to Rachel the twins can’t identify with any of that. For them she believes that holding the title is all about being able to stroke their egos and because of that they don’t care how they do it, and because by now Rachel knows it would be futile to ask them not to break the rules she’ll just make one thing clear to them: if they lose the Twin Hearts titles then she no longer has a reason to put up with their shit (!), and IF they lose HER title then not only is their team over “the gloves are comin’ off.” Rachel knows the twins like to make fun of her and bully her now, but, she promises, if they lose her championship then there will be nothing to hold her back “from beating the fucking brakes off of both of you,” and Lux and Lola’s jaws both hit the ground in unison as Langley storms off!

And finally we go back to where we began with footage taken hot after the main event, and this time we see the Dutch monster Theressa VDM being restrained by security while a pissed off Bella Quinn stomps off back to the locker room. The Glaswegian Gladiatrix is literally just cursing and yelling until she realizes the camera is following her, and Bella stops and gets up close to the lens to shout out Nina Wagner. Bella tells Nina she’s lucky (“looky”) she’s leaving this city without a concussion because Bella was fully intent on hitting her hard enough or enough times to make sure she got one, because Bella claims that is what Nina deserves for what she (Nina) did to her at 23rdBeat. Bella Quinn just goes on a tirade about how Nina tried to end her career, how ungrateful Nina is for everything Bella did for her, and how (in Bella’s words) Nina exposed just how utterly desperate she is to cling onto her spotlight, claiming that Nina KNOWS that 2017 is Bella’s year and that it’s just a matter of time before Bella takes what belongs to her.

Quinn says that she felt the after effects of getting spiked on her head for weeks after the show and when the pain was at its worst she considered that maybe SHE deserved it for how she treated Alex Mesa, but Bella claims the difference between them is that Nina jeopardized her career because she poses to the biggest threat to her (Nina), while Bella just stomped Alex out “like the annoying little bug she is.” Bella tells Nina that her best friend doesn’t have a future in this business and that soon enough neither will Nina, promising that after she takes Nina’s title at 24thBeat Nina is going to become irrelevant, and that’s IF Bella actually leaves her in a condition to ever wrestle again. For the Scotswoman, beating Nina Wagner is no longer about the competition and it’s gone far beyond being professional, she claims Nina took everything she worked for and now it’s only about taking it all away from Nina, because Bella wants it, she deserves it, “and god dammit I’m gonna do whatEVER I gotta do to finally get what’s mine!”

Next Stop: Miami

On May 27 Wild Hearts returns to Miami Florida with a major grudge match headliner live on PRW 24/7, and it’ll be South Florida’s own adopted daughter Ata Tatupu taking on bitter rival Suzy Conrad in steel cage match where the only way to win is to escape! A star studded eight woman tag team match, a Hunan TV title defense, and the debuts of the winner of Hunan TV’s One in a Thousand and four (FOUR!) other athletes round out a potentially history making card from the 5,000 seat FIU Arena!

Cage Match Main Event
Ata Tatupu vs. Suzy Conrad
  • After picking up victories over all time greats Meiko, Ata, and most recently WRATH, the brash young Oklahoman demanded a title shot and called out Ata Tatupu for a shot at the Samoan Superwoman’s PRW Championship. Ata answered the challenge with the condition that SHE, not Suzy, got to pick the stipulations, and to protect against the threat of outside interference from any number of parties Ata challenged Suzy to let herself be locked inside of a steel cage with the Big Dog. Suzy put her name on the contract and for the first ever the PRW Undisputed championship was to be defended in Wild Hearts… but then the unexpected happened.
  • On May 14 the biggest prize in PRW changed hands for the third time this year, and with gold no longer on the line Suzy tried to pull out of the scheduled main event with Ata Tatupu. Suzy claimed she had nothing to gain from “just beating” Ata “again!” and told Wild Hearts that she wanted out of the match, but the combined efforts of general manager Jonathan Swift, Ata Tatupu, and a pointed social media backlash all convinced Conrad that the show must go on, but now Suzy had a condition of her own. Suzy and Ata will still step into a ring surrounded by an unforgiving steel cage, but now the ONLY way to win the match is to be the first woman to walk back out of it.

All Star Eight Woman Tag
Alex Mesa, Julie Chan, Delilah Hansen, Cassie Rial
vs.
Bella Quinn, Alice Harris, Jess Kanal, Lux Wilde
  • Four hot feuds will come together in an explosive co-main event preview for 24thBeat, with Alex Mesa returning to the Wild Hearts ring hungry for revenge against Bella Quinn before Bella challenges for the Lioness of Wrestling title. Cassie Rial gets the chance to get some momentum back from Double Trouble before Lux Wilde enters her first title defense, and in a rematch-within-a-match Julie Chan and new best friend Delilah Hansen square off against Jesminder Kanal and the leader of the Alliance.

Hunan TV Title Match
Valencia Del Rey [c] vs. Brandi James
  • After surviving the challenge of Aja Kong in South Korea VDR will attempt to continue her record setting title reign with a defense against Florida’s own Brandi James, a controversial and ruthless competitor who will absolutely be no fan favorite in Onslaught Country after pushing the Finnish Fury down a set of stairs.

Tag Team Match
Sasha Sweet & The Winner of 1/1000 on Hunan TV
vs.
The Dirty Pair
  • After a year of anticipation the top prospect from China will finally make her long awaited professional debut, teaming with her trainer Sasha Sweet against the veteran duo of Sherri Taylor and Jenna Jett. At 23rdBeat Sherri and Sasha got into a war of words that resulted in BOTH women calling off their retirements to have this match, and the Dirty Pair would love nothing more than to add spoiling the debut of Hunan TV’s reality show star to their long list of career lowlights.

Tag Team Match
Maya Grier & Vicki
vs.
Arial Heart & Clarissa Richardson
  • Vicki was the first wrestler to be offered a Wild Hearts deal by the new GM Jonathan Swift, and while she’s not an official Onslaught member the English grappling extraordinaire should certainly receive a friendly welcome when she makes her promotional debut in Miami alongside Maya Grier. Their opponents are also making their Wild Hearts debuts, and as a regular tandem the wrestling models could make a big statement in a wide open Twin Hearts division.

Singles Match
Magica vs. Matilda Christopher
  • And finally in the opening contest another young athlete will get the chance to shine on the big stage, and although this California based former gymnast is coming in with a much lower profile than the other debuting workers on this card people familiar with her have very high expectations.

Sailing Towards Miami

Wild Hearts returns to iPPV with 24thBeat in New York headlined by the heated title rematch between Nina Wagner and Bella Quinn, but before then it’ll be a live five match card on PRW 24/7 headlined by the Big Dog Ata Tatupu and bitter rival Suzy Conrad going to war in a steel cage! Wild Hearts Live in Miami also features an all star eight woman tag team grudge match, a Hunan TV title match with Valencia Del Rey defending against first time challenger Brandi James, and FIVE new wrestlers all making their promotional debuts! In this special preview video General Manager Jonathan Swift will introduce the new signees to the viewers and we’ll get to hear from some of the stars themselves, including the women in the main event.

Magica: The Greeting

The first segment begins with footage of a five foot tall former gymnast going around the indies under the name “Magica,” coming off like a big star in these small shows despite her tiny height and low profile. From a studio interview Jonathan Swift talks about how you can hire the big names to your organization or hold big tryouts hoping to find potential stars, but sometimes you just have to get out there and look around for undiscovered prospects, and Swift says that when he found Magica he couldn’t believe that no one else had signed her yet. We get to see some of what he saw in Magica flying around the ring like gravity is just a suggestion, hitting some spectacular flips and wild lucha libre type moves in matches against women and men. Jonathan Swift calls Magica one of the most impressive athletes ever to come to Wild Hearts and then we finally hear from Magica herself, listing off a bunch of gymnastics achievements in a sweet and soft spoken manner. With pictures of her career flashing by (including one apparently showing her with her black dad and white mom) the honey blonde super-cutie talks about narrowly missing the cut to make the Olympic teams in 2008 and 2012 and how, at just twenty years old, she had to let go of her childhood dream to compete on the world’s most prestigious stage.

Swifts tells us that Magica was talented enough to go to UCLA on a full ride athletic scholarship as we see some highlights from her collegiate career, and Magica says that while she was in Los Angeles she discovered a new passion in a most unexpected place. A friend of hers had a spare ticket to Wild Hearts 4thBeat and she went along having never even watched pro wrestling before, and while we see some highlights from that show in 2013 Magica tells us that she was just “blown away” by the women and what they were doing in the ring. She talks about feeling the adoration the crowd had for them and how she instantly knew what she wanted to do after graduating college. Jonathan Swift talks about how she’s been honing her craft in the virtually invisible Southwestern indy scene as we see clips of her just being a human highlight reel, but while Swift lets it be known how excited he is to finally bring her to the “big leagues” Magica says that she’s not in this for the money or the fame. In addition to being a .gif machine we see that Magica can actually make real, emotional connections with young kids at shows, and she talks about idolizing the girls she watched in the Olympics when she was a child and being inspired by them to work hard and achieve great things in her life. Now through Wild Hearts she has the chance to make the same impact on people and THAT is what she’s striving for, to do amazing, unbelievable things and to make people believe that “magic is real.”

Casting Call: Ariel & Clarissa

The next two debuting competitors come from very different backgrounds than Magica, and we see that immediately in some behind-the-scenes footage of Ariel Heart and Clarissa Richardson modeling some winter wear for the upcoming season. The two brunettes’ charisma and charm comes through without the need for words as they play to the photographer’s camera, and the modeling ends with the fantastic blooper of Clarissa spitting and whining after Ariel nails her with an artificial snowball. From the same studio interview Jonathan Swift says that one of his goals as the new GM is to replenish the struggling Twin Hearts division, calling tag team wrestling essential to a well rounded promotion. He makes it clear that they have some great teams competing for the titles but they’re lacking in depth, and in Heart and Richardson he sees a confident veteran and a promising athlete who could bring some new energy to the tag scene. We get some highlights of the models working together from the indies to their first few matches in PRW, and in a joint interview they talk about how PRW actually put them together. They both admit that at first neither of them were thrilled with the idea of sharing the spotlight with a partner, but sharing a look and a smile with Clarissa, Ariel says that you never know who you’re going to have chemistry with until you get on the set or in the ring with them.

The segment then dives deeper into both women’s background starting with old modeling shots of a teenaged Ariel Heart in what looks like the early 2000s. With a pretty face, an “iconic” (her words) set of lips, and “loads of charisma,” the Long Island native broke into the modeling world and hustled for every job she could get, telling us that she got the door slammed in her face time after time for being “short” (she stands at 5’4” today). While a lot of girls would’ve kept trying and failing Ariel claims that she was smart enough to realize she wasn’t going to become a supermodel, but with pro wrestling at the time welcoming hot girls “with no talent required” she saw another chance to become a superstar. With a highlight reel that consists mostly of walking and talking and sexy poses, Heart compares herself to former champion Sasha Sweet in how she broke into the business and got plenty of opportunities based on her looks and charm, and she just kept hustling in wrestling and modeling for a decade until finally PRW recognized her talent. The video then shifts focus on to Clarissa Richardson, but instead of starting with a modeling portfolio we see her in younger years competing in softball and grappling tournaments. From “beautiful” Bothell Washington originally, Clarissa talks about playing sports growing up and how she always wanted to become a professional athlete, eventually finding her passion in Brazilian jujitsu. She took up fitness modeling because “it was something to do” and in 2013 she decided to give pro wrestling a try, choosing it over MMA because in wrestling “punches to the face are supposed to be banned.” We get some highlights of the Platinum Princess at work in the squared circle with Jonathan Swift explaining how her unorthodox and unpredictable BJJ influenced style made her quickly stand out on the indy circuit, and while other organizations might not “get” what she’s about Swift says that Meiko and Delilah Hansen and Jesminder Kanal have made a home for grapplers like her in Wild Hearts.

Vicki: Ode To Joy

And speaking of unique wrestling specialists, the video transitions to the next segment with a tape reel of English Vicki tying girls up in knots and using wacky escapes to get herself out of holds. We see Vicki going from the small venues of the British indy scene to the bigger stages of PRW’s iPPV circuit as Jonathan Swift returns to talk about her journey to Wild Hearts, explaining that it’s never been the policy to use every female athlete signed by PRW but in Vicki he sees something special. We see some of that ourselves in highlights of Vicki being more aggressive and taking some wild risks in the ring, and that the fact that she hangs out with La Chispa and Maya Grier makes her a natural addition to this show in Miami. But beyond this one event Jonathan Swift believes that Vicki will be a good addition to the roster and he notes her inspiring personal story in addition to her ring skills, and then we hear Vicki herself talk about her hard luck life. From being born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, to having developmental issues that made her a social outcast, to struggling with addictions and debt, Vicki admits she’s had it pretty rough but she doesn’t like to think of her life as a tragedy. She takes pride in overcoming obstacles and believes that her past struggles only make her future achievements feel more rewarding, from getting signed by PRW to being drafted by Cassie Rial and now to getting more opportunities to compete and turn her life around. She says that wrestling has been the greatest outlet for good in her life and that she’s focused a tremendous amount of energy to get good at it, she’s the happiest when she’s in the ring performing for a crowd and she hopes that the fans in Miami have as much fun watching her as she knows she’s going to have competing for them.

Brandi James Sounds Off

We’re then taken to an angry looking Brandi James standing in front of a big poster for Wild Hearts Live in Miami, and as soon as she knows the camera is rolling she starts complaining about her picture not being on the poster. Most of the women on the card are pictured including Vicki, The Models, and Magica, but “who even ever heard of them” asks Brandi before claiming that Vicki wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for her. She points at the big picture of Ata Tatupu in the middle of the poster and rants about Ata taking up all the room “with her dog faced lookin ass,” and finally in a fit of anger she tears off a piece of the poster with Valencia Del Rey’s picture on it. Brandi James points at the Hunan TV title on Val’s shoulder and says that when, “WHEN” she takes this Wild Hearts is going to have to put her face on the posters, and she claims that she can say “when” and not “if” because she knows that VDR isn’t going to “say a damn word” about it otherwise. With an eye roll and a totally mocking tone Brandi says that Val “thinks she’s soooo tough” just because she’s big and she’s from “the hood” and because she’s had all these battles for the title, but Brandi lets us know that she’s not intimidated by any of that because SHE is tough and she doesn’t battle with people, she uses them, she humiliates them, and she breaks them. She humiliated and broke “that big Finnish rat” by shoving Fury down some stairs and Brandi says that she used her to get this title shot, and now she’s going to do what she needs to do to Valencia Del Rey to get that belt around her waist.

Tatupu vs. Conrad: One Way Out

And finally our last segment begins with a shot of steel cage affixed to a ring before a reel of black and white footage highlights the violence and brutality often seen in the cage match, featuring numerous clips of Ata Tatupu bloodied up and bloodying various opponents over the years. Lead announcer Sterling Hawkwind is the talking head in this segment and he puts over the cage match as a barbaric spectacle that is one wrestling’s clearest links to the gladiator days of old, calling the cage an unforgiving environment designed to heighten the fight or flight responses of the unlucky individuals locked inside it. A clip of Suzy Conrad entering the cage in North Carolina for the Smash Sisters’ final match leads into a promo from Suzy herself talking about how disappointed she is in Ata Tatupu, claiming that “every wo-man” in fact is disappointed in Ata for losing the PRW Undisputed title and embarrassing the gender, but Suzy says that she has the most to be mad about because she lost out on a lot of money. Suzy claims that after beating Ata in the Lioness Cup “clean in the middle” (as we see the clip of her with her feet on the ropes) and after getting the better of Ata and WRATH over the last few months she didn’t think she had anything more to prove by beating the Big Dog again, but Ata winning the title changed her mind and if Ata “wanted to get herself embarrassed again that badly” then Suzy was willing to do business with her. But Ata “couldn’t hold up her end of the deal” and Suzy explains that in some businesses “you get your damn legs broke for that gurl,” she says that Ata cost her money and the biggest opportunity of her career and now this match isn’t about proving anything, it’s about “whippin’ that no good Ata Tatupu like a dog that done shit on the carpet before takin’ her out back like ole yeller!”

We then get some highlights of Ata Tatupu beating the brakes off of Suzy Conrad in their multiple encounters before hearing the Big Dog herself warning that Suzy has no idea what’s coming to her, telling us that being locked in the cage brings the animal out of her and that her bite is EVEN WORSE than her bark. It doesn’t matter to Ata that Suzy is big, mean, and tough because she is also “an idiot,” and Ata adds to that a “loud mouth” and a “damn fool” if she thinks she’s not about to catch one of the worst beatings of her life. Speaking of beatings we then get taken back to Suzy and Emily fighting with Ata and WRATH and how those matches ended with Emily wreaking havoc, and Ata makes it clear to Suzy that Emily won’t be coming to her rescue this time. Ata is clearly annoyed, dismayed even that Suzy threatened to pull out of the match, the main event, in Ata’s hometown, and that she modified the rules to save herself “from getting beat in fourteen seconds again,” and she calls that one of the worst in a long list of bad decisions, because if the only way to win is to walk out of the cage then Ata can take her time beating Suzy’s ass. Ata says that she’s waited a long time to get Suzy one on one again and she’s going to savor every moment of it, “every punch that connects with her face,” and she’s not walking out until she’s given Suzy Conrad all of what Suzy deserves.

24 Hours to 24thBeat, Part 1

On the day before 24thBeat on iPPV the stars of Wild Hearts are in New York getting ready for the big event, and we begin with the Lioness of Wrestling champion Nina Wagner getting ready for a live face-off later tonight with challenger Bella Quinn. In her hotel room the California Cutie reflects on her most emotionally charged title defense, pointing out the poetic underlining that it’s her return to the very place where she won the championship a year ago. Nina talks about starting her career here in New York with Meiko as her rival and Gemma Traumaward as her mentor and how things changed after she went on the road with Wild Hearts, gaining one of her idols in Bella Quinn as a new mentor before finally growing into her own, and in a funny, beautiful way she says that fate brought her back here when she was finally ready to defeat Meiko and win the Lioness of Wrestling title. Now she’s back once again to defend her title against someone she used to consider a friend, but now she only considers Bella “a basket case” looking to take everything she worked for. There’s a saying about knowing you’ve made it when your idols become your rivals but Nina doesn’t think there’s a rivalry between her and Bella, feeling that she surpassed Bella as a wrestler and that instead of wanting to keep up with her Bella just grew bitter and jealous of her success, and when Bella tried to injure Alex Mesa to send a message to her this just became a grudge. Nina gave Bella a taste of her own medicine at 23rdBeat and now she’s looking to put Bella in the rear view mirror for good.

Meiko, Gemma Traumaward, Delilah Hansen, and Monica Applegate of the Wild Tiger Fight Team are holed up in their hotel room with plenty of snacks and drinks for a tape study party, and they’re watching previous Thunder Queen Battles to get ready for the big match tomorrow against the Alliance. The ladies are brainstorming ideas for their entry order in the singles portion of the match before it becomes an all-in elimination tag, thinking up strategies and talking shit about the Alliance members, joking about how whoever goes up against Alice Harris better put in the hardest five minutes of their life while the person that gets Theressa VDM better have on a good pair of running shoes.

Julie Chan and Hunan TV One in a Thousand winner Zhao Weiwei are hanging out together getting ready for Zhao’s first American autograph signing, and appropriately enough it’s in Manhattan’s historic Chinatown. The Canadian born former champion’s Mandarin is a work in progress and Goldfish Zhao’s English is somewhere around “Leeloo Dallas Multipass” level, but the two ladies are finding a way to communicate and Julie is giving the nervous rookie some comfort before they meet the people. We see highlights from the autograph signing and Zhao Weiwei is just a ball of sunshine talking and taking pictures with the fans, getting help from Julie Chan whenever a language barrier comes up. At some point somebody asks Zhao about facing Sherri Taylor one-on-one at 24thBeat, and the former swimmer cuts a fiery promo about getting jumped by the Dirty Pair and how she’s going to prove that her beating Sherri wasn’t a fluke or beginner’s luck, saying the tide is turning and that she represents the new wave of talent about to wash over wrestling. At some point Julie is asked about her situation with partner-turned rival Jesminder Kanal, Julie says that she called Jess out after getting low blowed and dropped on her head in Miami but Jess turned it down. Julie says SHE was willing to give Jess a rematch after the “disputed pin” at 23rdBeat so they could settle the score, but she figures Jess had her own idea of getting back at her and she says that what Jess did to her in Miami goes beyond the pale of competitive rivalry. Julie promises that this isn’t over between them and warns that the longer Jess runs from her the worse this is going to end for Jess.

Elsewhere in Chinatown Brandi James is taking in the culture before challenging Valencia Del Rey for the Hunan TV title, walking around the streets in a qipao dress with a cane to help with her suspect limp. Brandi sticks out like a sore thumb and she just draws more attention to herself by talking as loudly as possible about how she’s getting ready to represent China as their new Hunan TV champion, claiming that while Val “hangs out with her vato friends in Cali” she is going to be the “People’s Republic’s champion” and represent the belt right. Brandi says that her body still isn’t up to 100% but in Miami she proved how much smarter she is than Val so to her it’s a fair matchup, but she says that life isn’t fair for people like Val so she’s visiting a traditional Chinese medicine specialist to concentrate the forces of her body and mind “like that Dr. Strange shit.” We see some of Brandi cutting a promo on VDR while on the table getting an acupuncture done, talking shit in between yelping and whining every time the poor acupuncturist sticks a tiny needle in her back, and she promises that the pain Val feels when she takes the title from her is going to be ten times worse than this.

And speaking of Valencia Del Rey the reigning Hunan TV champion is visiting her cousin Gloria at the Jesus Freak Camp in the Bronx, shaking a lot of hands and posing with her belt for pictures with the various fighters at the gym. “Val” and “Glo” have a chit chat about growing up in the rough neighborhoods of Stockton and their different paths to finding better lives for themselves, of course for VDR that includes winning the Hunan TV title and defending it all over the world, and even after moving far, far away from Stockton Gloria is glad that she finally has the chance to cheer Val on as she whops Brandi James. VDR gets a boxing workout in with the JFC coaches and she looks fast, crisp, and scary, and as she goes to work on a speed bag she jokes with the camera about treating Brandi’s face like this, “but her face ain’t gonna keep its shape like this thing does.”

Former Twin Hearts champion Jesminder Kanal is getting a workout in at a public gym and we get something of an interview with her over the footage of her pumping iron, explaining that despite not having a match “set in stone” for tomorrow’s show she’s not taking time off, she expects to compete and she always keeps her body finely tuned. Jess talks about how “furious and humiliated” she felt from getting a three count scored on her by Julie Chan when she “clearly” kicked out before three, but instead of whining and crying about it “like Julie every time I beat her” Jess says that she waited patiently knowing she’d get her win back as soon as she had the chance. “I dropped Julie on her head and the ref could’ve counted to ten, she wasn’t kicking out.” The New Jersey native says that she’s heard Julie complain about the low kick before the Screwdriver and she asks what the big deal is, claiming that Julie “celebrated her fake win” over her so IF her win in Miami doesn’t count either then in her mind they’re even. Jess claims that Julie “begged” for another match with her and even got in her face at the Onslaught gym trying to act tough, and Jess claims that she would’ve beat Julie down right then and there but luckily for Julie she convinced not to by Ata Tatupu, revealing that Ata asked them to break from each other to cool down. With a scoff Jess she says that despite showing her loyalty by “sleeping around with other camps” (!) Ata still feels some loyalty to Julie, so Jess is doing her mentor a favor on this one and she will not wrestle Julie until they face off on PRW Xclusiv. But with 24thBeat in her native part of the world Jess says there’s no way she’s missing this show, so she’s issuing an open invitation for anyone EXCEPT Julie Chan to come out and face her on the iPPV, complaining that since SHE’s not getting any opportunities she’s going to start making her own now.

Model-wrestlers Ariel Heart and Clarissa Richardson are walking around New York’s high fashion district doing some window shopping, checking out the fancy clothes and being totally snide as they critique the models in the window ads and offer their own poses on the sidewalk. The more experienced Ariel Heart has a lot of fun correcting Clarissa when she tries to pronounce the name of some French brands, and when Clarissa asks if Ariel actually worked for any them the native New Yorker quickly changes the subject. The ladies go into a store and try on some looks, putting on their own mini runway show and snapping a ton of selfies and pictures of each other. They both find stuff they want to buy but their eyes go wide when they see the price tags and look into their wallets, Clarissa is bummed out and embarrassed that they can’t afford anything but Ariel tells her not to worry about it, saying she has an old trick for scoring free threads. In an ATG moment Clarissa gasps and tells Ariel they can’t shoplift while they’re on camera, and with a sigh Ariel tells her to sit tight and watch how “a pro” does things. Ariel walks up to the cashier and starts spinning a story about how she’s a model going to a shoot but the wardrobe is stuck in traffic, but luckily her friend [name-dropping this fashion house’s designer] said it was ok if she stopped by and borrowed some clothes for the shoot.

The clerk does not believe a single word that Ariel just said, not because it’s an unlikely story but because she (the clerk) hasn’t seen Ariel in any magazines she reads or parties she goes to so she doesn’t believe the part about Ariel being a model! Ariel Heart is shocked and offended and she says calls the clerk “a casual” for not knowing who she is, telling the store girl she should be wearing white lines and blinking lights because she is “so pedestrian” before flipping her hair and storming off! Clarissa and Ariel are walking down the street talking about how they need to start making more money, asking if people don’t look at them and think they’re stars then what’s even the point of trying to be successful. Clarissa has an idea of what they need to do and Ariel tells her not to say it because she knows what it is too, and the footage cuts to Ariel in a different store telling another cashier the same story except now she’s the stylist instead of a model. The cashier buys it but he wants to verify the story before letting them walk out with the clothes, and after Ariel threatening the guy’s job security doesn’t convince him to give them the clothes they’re back out on the sidewalk pouting. Clarissa says that what she was going to say was that they need to get on the card tomorrow and maybe win a match and earn some money, and with a sigh Ariel admits that Clarissa’s right and starts dialing up a number on her phone.

24 Hours to 24thBeat, Part 2

The Heartbreaking Hall of Fame member Emily Hart is at a Coney Island arcade playing some shooting game and she’s just killing all the balloons, scoring high enough at the game to win herself a huge stuffed Minion fella. The carny game operator makes a big deal out of it and the other players are impressed by Emily’s performance, but she couldn’t look more “blah” about it and she walks off sighing. While strolling down the boardwalk with her prize under her arm Emily says that without feeling the kick of a real rifle and without causing real destruction with her shot there’s just no fun to it, calling games like that a “dulling, pacified imitation” of the violence that modern society is trying to marginalize and push to the fringes, “but I myself am fringe and marginalized.” When she saw WRATH challenge her for 24thBeat Emily says she smiled, she’s hoping she gets the fight she’s been waiting for but at the same time a part of her felt sad, because listening closely to Sofia talk Emily could hear in her voice that she’s already defeated. “You said the words you needed to say, maybe you even believed them, but I don’t believe you truly meant them.” But whatever the case may be Emily is taking WRATH at her word tomorrow night, and she warns there will be severe consequences if Sofia disappoints her. In an ATG evil dickhead heel moment some kids on the boardwalk seemingly recognize Emily Hart and they’re too shy/respectful to just run up to her, but Emily notices them and she starts walking over to them with the big Minion plushie in her hands… only to toss it off of the boardwalk into the ocean! Without saying a word Emily turns around while the kids looked shocked and saddened, walking off and bursting into laughter!

Fans are lined up around the block waiting to get into the Brooklyn Bowl (a concert space/bowling alley) for tonight’s pre-iPPV face-off when a car pulls up in front of the entrance to drop someone off, and the arrival of Lioness of Wrestling title challenger Bella Quinn draws booing and heckling from the crowd! The Glaswegian Gladiatrix pays no attention to them so they don’t get the satisfaction of a reaction, but once she’s in the building Bella goes on a mini-rant about how two faced and inconsistent the fans are, predicting those same people that just heckled her will be lined up again at the end of the nigh to ask for her autograph, “and THEN I’m gonna tell em te fook off!” Bella is getting her hair done in the dressing room and she uses the time to talk about this rematch, her fourth crack at the title in just as many years, and she makes a big deal of the fact that Nina did not beat her in their last match. Bella says that what Nina did was tantamount to flipping over the table when you know you can’t win a card game, and now that she knows Nina is “desperate enough” to do such a thing she won’t let it happen again, telling us Nina isn’t getting away with the belt “on a technicality” this time. Nina Wagner might’ve managed to stretch out her time on top “a little longer than it should’ve gone,” but she’s NOT going to celebrate a year as champion and Bella says she’s going to tell Nina that herself when they face-off later.

Wild Hearts General Manager Jonathan Swift is getting the stage ready for the live face-off later tonight while a few wrestlers and randos are legit bowling in the background, going over technical stuff with the staff when his assistant informs him that two wrestlers are looking for him. That could mean anything and in this business that probably means something bad, but luckily for Jonathan he goes to meet with the wrestlers he finds the well mannered Mariel Martinez and Shirley Wellington of the Southwest Express. Somehow this is actually the first time the Texas based tag team has met Swift in person and they give him a belated congratulations on getting the promotion, and like true workers they’re talking about how much they like his ideas to shake up the promotion, especially the one about reenergizing the Twin Hearts division. Jonathan says that it was nice of them to come all this way just to tell him how good of a job he’s doing and Shirley, almost embarrassed, reveals that they’re actually booked on an indy show tonight, and since they’re already in town they figured it couldn’t hurt to see if they could get on the 24thBeat card as well. Swift smiles and says he appreciates them making the effort before telling them it just so happens that there’s an opening for a tag team, saying that he’d love to have them open the show tomorrow night against Ariel Heart and Clarissa Richardson! Shirley and Mariel both look at each other real quick and they don’t even have to think about it, taking the match and thanking Jonathan for making this so easy with Mariel joking (or not) about saving her from making a sad speech about not getting any opportunities.

Somewhere else in the same venue Twin Hearts champion Rachel Langley is bowling with some fans, being more of a cool, down to earth person instead of a famous athlete trying to keep up appearances. Rachel is just hanging out and having a good time and she tells the camera at one point that she’s been spending her time in New York just looking for distractions, “wholesome distractions,” to keep her mind off of the Twin Hearts title match tomorrow night. She says there’s no result that will make her happy because she’s either going to see her best friend get heartbroken again or HER heart is going to get broken, and either way Lux and Lola Wilde will be responsible. Being stuck with “two identical jerks” on the other side of a rivalry against her friend Nebraska was not how Rachel wanted to spend the last seven months, but she knows this is the last shot the Brilliant Pair are getting at the belts for a while so if the Wilde Twins can retain them she’s looking forward to getting back to business “and making some changes in this working relationship.” But if Lux and Lola manage to blow it tomorrow and lose HER title then Rachel says that twins are about to become an endangered species.

Another car pulls up outside of the Brooklyn Bowl to drop someone else off and the lined-up fans erupt in cheers when Twin Hearts title challengers Cassandra Rial and Nebraska Jones step out of the car, but instead of going straight inside the Brilliant Pair take a moment to meet with the fans! Nebs and Cassie work the line saying hello and hi-fiving folks and taking some pictures, getting a lot of love support back from the fans in Cassandra’s hometown. The camera follows the Brilliant Pair inside the venue and they are definitely still feeling the energy from the crowd, talking to each other and the camera about how much this title match tomorrow means to them. They remember how the last time Wild Hearts was in New York they were in the dark match opening the show, and they vividly remember how, whether it was the Wilde Twins or the Dirty Pair, they’ve been cheated out of winning the Twin Hearts titles when they were the closest to finally winning the belts, and Cassie says that this time HAS to be different. Nebby says that they’ve seen all of Lux and Lola’s tricks and she doesn’t believe the twins will be able to rely on their biggest weapon, telling Cassie that they ARE going to beat both Wildes up so badly there won’t be a fresh twin to sneak in at the end. Nebraska points out that she and Cassie aren’t identical twins, they’re not even related but they love each other like sisters, and for the last two years they’ve fought and struggled together and survived and persisted (!) against the odds and against the worst characters that Wild Hearts has to offer. “Lux and Lola might be real twins but you know what, they have NO HEART between them!” But Nebraska and Cassandra are DONE just surviving and coming up close and “making a good account” for themselves, they are here to win the highest prize in women’s tag team wrestling and cement their legacy in the record books!

It’s finally time for the live face-offs and we get a cool fun highlight package of the event, from the fans pouring into the standing room only venue to Sterling Hawkwind playing MC, with camera shots from both the crowd and the stage looking out at the 500 fans. First up to the stage are Sherri Taylor with Jenna Jett to pure booing and Zhao Weiwei with Sasha Sweet to a pop and a “Zhao Weiwei” chant, and in an awesome dumb moment Sherri offers a handshake only to pull it back and Zhao does the scream in her face to back her up! Brandi James hobbles onto the stage with her cane to massive booing from the crowd, spiking it down angrily as she shouts back at the fans, and there’s a big pop and a loud “VDR” chant when the champion takes the stage, looking tough and scary as she gets in Brandi’s face, backing the supposedly injured challenger up until Brandi is just exiting, shouting “tomorrow!” Emily Hart gets a big, loud, and mixed reaction from the fans in Brooklyn and she soaks up the moment, doing a slow turn with her arms out looking as emotionless as a doll. WRATH gets a pop from the crowd and we get an ICE COLD stare down as she and Emily just glare in each other’s eyes like a pair of serial killers, neither woman looking away or maybe even blinking until after Jonathan Swift steps in to break it up.

Alice Harris, Hanna Heathrow, Theressa VDM, and Marissa Zuniga are out first for the Thunder Queen Battle and the Alliance members get drowned in boos from the fans as they line up across the stage to strike poses, but the crowd erupts in cheers when the Wild Tiger Fight Team rush the stage and chase the Alliance members out of the spotlight! Security is quickly moving into place so we don’t get a “face-off” between the two teams as much as a lot of shit talking from across the stage, and Meiko, Gemma Traumaward, Delilah Hansen, and Monica Applegate stick around afterwards to do their playing to the crowd. Lola and Lux Wilde walk out with both Twin Hearts title belts to deafening boos from the fans in Brooklyn, and Double Trouble just do mirror poses with the belts while jaw jacking with the crowd. The Brilliant Pair hit the stage to road warrior pop from the audience and Cassie and Nebs are fired up, playing to the crowd before trying to get right up in Lux and Lola’s faces! Jonathan Swift steps in to prevent any physicality and credit to the dude for separating four women himself, just letting the two teams engage in a war of words until Double Trouble start backing up, holding the belts and a forehead L up for their rivals.

After a brief video package for the main event we get the entrance of the beer swilling challenger and the crowd showers Bella Quinn in boos, and like a total dickbag Bella chugs her beer before spraying it out all over the fans nearest the stage! The crowd goes wild with boos as Bella Quinn loses her mind, waving her arms and screaming at the fans like a crazy person until Nina Wagner’s music hits! BIG POP for Ninawags in New York and Bella is fucking ready to go, getting Jonathan Swift’s arm up already as the Lioness of Wrestling champion enters the stage! Nina Wagner lifts the title up for the cheering crowd before shouldering it and stomping over to Bella Quinn, staring her down with a scowl while Bella runs her mouth taking shit. With Bella shouting “it’s my time” at Nina the California Cutie raises the belt up high, shouting “you HAD your time, this is MINE” back at Bella, and the fans go wild when Bella Quinn tries to snatch the belt out of Nina’s hand! She doesn’t get it and Jonathan Swift quickly separates the two rivals before the hands start flying, but the banter continues as Bella tells Nina to take her pictures with the belt tonight because she’s losing it tomorrow! Ninawags’ “go home you’re drunk” clap back is too savage for words, and Sterling Hawkwind closes the show plugging the iPPV from the Barclays Center tomorrow night!

Complete Card for Wild Hearts at the Cow Palace

On the night before PRW’s biggest night of the year Wild Hearts is returning to the San Francisco area with a complete slate of big, new, and exciting match ups for the fans in a seven match card LIVE on PRW 24/7! The historic Cow Palace arena was a hotbed of wild and innovative wrestling action in the 1960’s and more recently hosted a leg of the Lioness Cup tournament last year, adding to a legacy of big events in the Wild Hearts timeline along with Fifth Beat, Twelfth Beat, and the first Wild Hearts Weekly series!

[Main Event: Last Woman Standing]
Ata Tatupu vs. Emily Hart
  • The main event of the evening is an electrifying first time ever one-on-one match between two of the toughest and scariest women in the world, The Scorned Samoan Ata Tatupu and the Heartbreaker Emily Hart! These two were allies a long time ago due to having mutual friends and enemies and everything surrounding that is truly a story for another day, but after a new and changed Emily returned it seemed like they were set to meet on a violent collision course. Emily and Ata have so far gotten reacquainted on opposite ends of destructive tag matches, and after Ata settled her score with Suzy Conrad and Emily put WRATH on the shelf these two are finally going to clash alone in a match where the only way to win is to be the Last Woman Standing!
  • In an interview the former Undisputed Champion admitted that she and Sofia Wrath aren’t exactly “close,” they don’t have a tight bond but what they do have for each other is respect, and Ata said that the former Lioness of Wrestling didn’t deserve to go out like she did at 24thBeat. Ata explained that she’s not making it her job to get revenge for WRATH because she knows that Sofia will return one day to handle her own business, but what Ata said she can do is beat a measure of respect out of Emily Hart in front of a sold out crowd in San Francisco. While Emily is looking for that someone who can push her to her limits Ata is more than happy to mix it up while she awaits the winner of the Undisputed title match at Summerfest, saying that instead of taking a vacation she’s stepping up to give her fans what they want and Emily “what she deserves.”

Tornado Six Woman Tag]
Gemma Traumaward, Meiko, Lilly Hansen
vs.
Alice Harris, Theressa VDM, Marissa Zuniga
  • The Alliance may have won 24thBeat’s Thunder Queen Battle on a technicality, but it was Gemma Traumaward standing tall at the end after putting the Dutch Destroyer to sleep with the Cat’s Cradle. After all else failed against Theressa VDM the founder of the WTFT used her inescapable but banned choke hold to get out of the match with something of a moral victory at least, and although she’ll be paying a stiff fine Gemma said in a post match interview that it was all worth it, even taunting the Alliance by claiming that she felt their monster tap. Clearly the war between these two dangerous factions is far from over, and the action is guaranteed to be out of control when three members from each team meet in a tornado match with no tags, no disqualifications, and no holds barred!

[Hunan TV Title Match]
Valencia Del Rey [c] vs. Suzy Conrad
  • The defining rivalry of Valencia Del Rey’s career will be revisited when the Stockton native returns to defend the Hunan TV title in the very arena where she first won it last October. Suzy Conrad is looking to bounce back from a bloody loss to Ata Tatupu in Miami and the history between these former teammates turned rivals is enough alone to warrant a title shot, and after coming close to winning the belt against both former champ Hansen and Del Rey last year the third time could be the charm for the Oklahoman.

La Chispa vs. Jesminder Kanal
  • After an impressive victory over Vicki in New York the Queen of the Grind is at it again, and while she’s trying to avoid facing bitter rival Julie Chan under the advice of Ata Tatupu she’s drawing another Onslaught affiliated name in La Chispa. Given the bond formed by Chispa and Vicki last year there’s no doubt that the masked woman has a bone to pick with Jess after the way she handled the British grappler at 24thBeat, and the feeling is surely mutual with Jess looking to avenge a loss to La Chispa in last year’s Lioness Cup tournament.

Rachel Langley & Shirley Wellington vs. Double Trouble
  • At 24thBeat the Super Athlete gave Lux and Lola the chance to defend the Twin Hearts titles fair and square without cheating and they couldn’t do it, they fought hard but the Brilliant Pair finally completed their long quest to win the championship. Afterwards Rachel finally snapped on the Wilde Twins and that shaky team of Red River Dojo trainees seems to be finished forever, and now the former champs are set to face off for the first time since losing the belts!
  • But of course Rachel is going to need a new partner if she wants to take on the twins and luckily she didn’t have to search far, finding a like minded individual in the Red River Dojo’s own Shirley Wellington! Rachel reached out to the El Paso native at the Texas based training center and Shirley jumped at the opportunity, revealing that like Rachel she too was bullied by Lux and Lola. The Southwest Express member said that she was “pranked and pushed around” by the Wilde twins to the point where she couldn’t stand to be in the same locker room as them, but when they step into that ring together Shirley is promising that it’s going to be her and Rachel bullying them for a change. “Y’ALL HURT MY FEELINGS AND NOW IT’S PAYBACK TIME BABY!”

Sasha Sweet & Zhao Weiwei vs. Dirty Pair
  • The winner of Hunan TV’s One in a Thousand looked impressive in her debut by pinning veteran and Hall of Famer Sherri Taylor in a tag match, and when they went one-on-one the 19 year old rookie could’ve proven she wasn’t just lucky, but the Dirty Pair did what the Dirty Pair does and they stole the match. Now the former Twin Hearts champions will get a second chance to show that they, not the rookie and the 20 year vet, still belong in the competitive Wild Hearts landscape.

Magica vs. Mariel Martinez
  • And in the opening contest of the evening high flying former gymnast Magica returns after a successful debut to take on former tag title challenger Mariel Martinez!
