Thanks. This thing still has a way to go to be version 1.00 but the shadows were a big step. Just added another screenstyle:



It's hard to tell by looking at it but the rain is slightly transparent. That ability has been there since .75 but I never had a style that called for it.

This pretty much shows everything that's new in today's update: Twofold added as a character, Balrog and M.Bison finally get minilogos and J'onn finally gets a more recent logo.

The Vs. Maker gets a small but slightly surprising all-horror/all-monster update this weekend. Blanka (finally), some Darkstalkers and the Vampire Hunter screen-style. Here's a demo of it:

I'm glad you like it even though it's just a preview. That Demitri is from a Wuwo rip pack since he'll fit in better with the non-Darkstalker characters. Felicia and Gallon will be in there but won't have unique minilogos yet.

The other Count with a magic castle that phases in and out of our world will appear in both SotN and Dracula-X flavors. At least one more Castlevania character will show up. Two more monster-related side-scroller series will be represented by their main characters. The main idea is to have an even number of side-scrollers to defend their ScrollBoss turf from the invading Darkstalkers.

edit 1: Castlevania character count is now 3.

edit 2: Here's a REAL preview. I'm sure no one will be surprised by the other CV character here.

You can probably tell that Alucard is the scratch-made sprite. There are still a few surprises left, though.

How didn't I notice that update on the 29th! Amazing stuff all around. Your stuff keeps looking more Capcom official over time. Rick makes me the happiest(Sprite&custom portrait). Totally gonna mess around with this when I get home tomorrow.

EDIT: Just checked the surprise character...too awesome. Now I can't choose a favorite from this update.

Thanks for the heads-up on Black Manta. I keep trying to do too much at once so I'm always missing mistakes like that.

The other surprise characters was the first character I worked on for the update. I finished it last week and it was hard to not just post the sprites on the board and spoil the surprise.

Also: Morrigan's new sprite was a literal last-minute thing. I was working on it as I was waiting for the rest of the site to be uploaded. the Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution sprites for Darkstalkers seemed to be resized 112% so I did that, traced her, and tried to give her a hybrid sprite style look. I just wanted to have something better for the Succubus face-off. There will probably be a slightly fixed-up version in another update.

There's a Namco section now. Consider making a Sony one in the not-so-distant future? lol I'd love to see Ratchet. And I'd really love to see the PixelBoss, community version of this one, but I'm guessing this happens after release 1?

kiwi: When you get your own site, I know you'll be making our jaws drop with amazement. Your getting a site needs to happen sooner than later.

r&h: That sprite will get an update. Again, that was a rush job done as I was uploading so she's maybe 95%.

SKRON: There won't a Sony section on the ScrollBoss version for various reasons that would require a rant for me to explain. It's mostly because I can't think of any Sony-distributed games that I care enough about to make sprites of. Namco is a different story. The next non-Halloween update, which will be a while from now, will have Pac-Man in it since he already has a sprite and a minilogo :pacman:

Yeah, the community version will be when engine v 1.0 hits. There's a ton of stuff to rewrite before that and I have a ton of things to do overall including a comic or two. I may make the community version for us if I get it to a point where I'm sure I won't have to change a bunch of stuff in later engine updates XD
