Had this crazy tightening in my lower abdomen like every three minutes or so for three hours. I've gone into labor before, and this didn't feel like that, but still, the frequency of the "contrax" were scaring me. So, spent some time on the monitors (NST), and the baby did great! I was having those funny BH-like contrax the whole time, but nothing was registering on the monitor. I was like "Are you sure???" It was the weirdest thing.

Anyway, I felt pretty dumb, but at least it put my mind at ease. Oh, and they did a fetal fibronectin test, which came back negative, so it's very likely I won't go into labor in the next two weeks. Whew!

Had my 32 week appt. today, and the doc says the baby is head down. I don't believe her...I'm feeling way too many kicks on my bladder. But she took my hand, made me feel how hard my stomach was down low, as opposed to having some leeway up high (meaning butt). Wish they'd just do a u/s, but they say it's too early anyway. That even if he IS head down, he can turn back breech at this point.

Anyhoo, that's my week. Hope everyone's well!

Hugs,
Meg
Meg,

What a scare!

Its better to go and make sure.

Im getting the braxton hicks so often and so strong i worry a bit and count them to make sure they are not too many.

But I'm never getting more than 4 an hour, my doctor said it was normal.

At least you know you have 2 more weeks wihtout having to worry about preterm labor.

I'm glad you got it checked out, now they won't bother you when you continue to experience them. Do you have discomfort with them? Just asking because I have noticed my uterus feeling very firm at times when I am just relaxing but I don't feel anything. Just wondering if that's what BH are or do you actually feel the contraction?
Good luck, you are in the home stretch!!

I seem to get tons of BH contrax during my PGs. I remember being concerned with my last two, but they were never as frequent as they were the other day. Still, the fact that they weren't registering on the monitors was baffling to me, as I could feel them so distinctly.

Sorry you're dealing with them, too.

I've got mixed feelings about him being head down... If he stays that way, I may consider VBAC again. Although I had kind of accepted the fact that I'd be having another c-section. Ah well

What you're describing does sound like BH. They are uncomfortable at times, and, yes, your stomach usually tightens a bit. They're not painful at all, though, unlike real contractions. That was one thing that made me feel better; that they weren't getting more intense and I wasn't feeling pain. It's just that there was so many I worried they could start dilating my cervix. But, that wasn't the case, cervix was slammed shut

How are you doing? Hope all's well with you.

Hugs,
Meg

I don't think I would have noticed if my hand wasn't on my stomach, I'm going to start paying more attention. I'm doing great, thanks! 27 weeks today... crazy!!
