High Betas - #2 is back - what P2 level suggest multiples?

High Betas - #2 is back - what P2 level suggest multiples?

First beta at 15 dpo was 545 and I had a second at 18dpo at 1753, which makes my doubling time about 44 hours - does that sound ok?

Still a little worried about the #s being so high and if the doubling time is too fast. This was a natural cycle and I had a postitive opk on cd 11 and cd 12 with a temp rise on cd 14. FF thinks I O'd on CD 13, but I guess it could have been one or two days earlier - that would be the max though b/c we only BD'd on CD 11 and CD12.

Also P4 from 15 dpo was 20.4. I've read that P4 levels are more predictive of multiples, but I don't know the range - it seems 20 might be about average.

Does anyone have any insight?

Based on LMP, I should be 4w+3 today... at what point do you see the OB and can get u/s?

Just for some more info regarding my numbers, my beta at 16 dpo was 987, so if I'd had it taken at 18 dpo it could've been around 1974 if it doubled. And, my numbers doubled at a rate of 41.99. I think your numbers and doubling time sound good.

Re the p4, not sure about it being indicative of multiples. Are you seeing an RE for those betas? Some REs like to see p4 even higher than 20 (although I'm not saying you should be worried, but my RE upped my p4 when mine went from 50-something to 28. However, it was the drop, I believe, that caused concern, not the number being in the 20s.)

Anyway, if you're seeing an RE, they would get you in for an u/s way earlier than an o/b in my experience. If I'd waited for my OB to do it, I would've had to wait until I was 12 weeks (!), I think. My RE did it at 6 weeks and again at 8 weeks.

GL to you!

Hugs,
Meg

I know that when you're in it it feels differently, but betas or P4 are not in any way a surefire way of predicting multiples.

15DPO - 108
18DPO - 942
20DPO - 2,936
22DPO - 6,447
25DPO - 15,973

My doubling time started off at rate of 23.04 hours! Talk about fast doubling.

My P4 levels were always in the 30s/40s but I was on supplementation. Without it it would drop to the 20s and that was not a level that my RE found acceptable (hence the supplementation).

Like Meg said, u/s depends on who you are seeing for care; there's no steadfast across the board rule.

Good luck and congrats! The numbers look great so far!

There could be multiples but also could very well be a singleton, esp if you are off even by a day. My doubling time between beta #1 and #2 was 34 hrs. My first was 554 17DPO and 2nd was 1461 19dpo. I have one bean.
I know it's so hard waiting and anticipating! I think around 5- 5 1/2 weeks they would be able to see how many sacs on an US.

These are our stats after IVF.

Beta #1 - 12dp3dt - 342. P4 - 108
Beta #2 - 15dp3dt - 1,263

We had a healthy singleton 2.8 years ago.

Our P4 was through the roof.
But, again, a healthy singleton.
I was a complete stress case until I asked for an early u/s and we saw 1 sac. Then I was able to relax.

Congratulations!

My p4 for both pgs was.

ds #1 - 13 - 15 dpo (p4 76 - 115)
ds #2 - 13 - 15 dpo (p4 63.6 - 75.5) then at 22 dpo it was 83.8 then it started to go down as the placenta took over.

This was both singletons.

You can't tell what you're having until you have an u/s.

Again congrats,
Z.

Best,

My RE monitored my beta, E2 and P4. All 3 were monitored until 69DPO (yes 69). After that only P4 was monitored through 2nd trimester due to it being low every time they took me off the P4 support.

My RE kept monitoring even though I was released to my OB. My OB didn't believe in monitoring levels at all.
