Hi ladies, after going 13 weeks with no period after LO arrived, I was finally able to get in to see OB. She ran some bloodwork and it said my FSH was 6 and the thyroid level was 1.2. The doctor mentioned the thyroid level was smack dab in the middle so I should not be worried about anything there.
Now, I wound up getting my period 3 days later after the blood draw. I know the fsh number is really only as good as taking it on day 3. But was wondering what the pattern was for fsh, ie should it be elevated a few days from your period. I guess the good news is I got my period so I am not in menopause. I am not about to jump back in to the whirlwind of cycling, but was wondering if these numbers were indicative of anything.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

since you got your period this means you ovulated ~14 days prior (assuming standard LP). And since you got your period that means you're not PG. So what happens in normal course of business is that in the late LP, in absence of pregnancy, your FSH and LH start to rise. Therefore, you can assume that if your FSH was 6 on 3 days prior to your period, that 3 days after your period, your FSH would be some number higher than 6. How high? That's a total guess, and very specific to you. If I were totally ballparking it - I'd say your CD3 FSH would maybe be in the 10-15 range.

Did they only draw your FSH? Any other hormones?

Thanks Mrs. A. I only know they tested the fsh and thryoid. At the time, my main concern was my throid and whether or not I was going in to premature menaupause. The good news is I finally got it. Now, the fun begins to see how things settle.
