Hi Guys

Ive an old 686 with a standard rear sight and a patridge front.

I have bottomed out the rear but cant get to neck hold at 50. Its not drilled for a sight so can't fit a LPA TXT sight to the rear.

Blade of patridge is 4.5mm, total height 9.4mm over barrel

Rear sight total height 10.7mm

any tips greatly appreciated

thanks

Hi

maybe this is an option for you:

https://www.waffenschmiede-kuehn.de/eig ... -revolver/

No milling needed. I have one of his sight on my pistol, works fine.
Located in germany, I think shipping to you should not be a problem.

Your front sight is apparently too low for neck shooting. Check the front sight to see if it is a pinned blade or integral with the bbl. If it is a pinned blade, get a from blade for the model 25(higher sight), or contact Smith if you can for height suggestion. Mine is 5.70 mm. If it is not a pinned in sight then it will not be a simple blade change. If part of the bbl, would need to mill sight blade off flush to ramp, cut a key way for a new sight. Hope this helps you.

Is your current front sight a partridge or red ramp front sight? Patridge sights are usually pinned.

.300 TALL FRONT SIGHT IS WHAT YOU NEED.  ALONG WITH A REAR SIGHT BLADE FROM A S&W MODEL 41. THE REAR SIGHT BLADE(S&W CALL IT A REAR SIGHT SLIDE) WITH AN ANGLED FRONT EDGE. THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE ABILITY TO GET NECK HOLD AT 50YDS AND CENTERHOLD AT 25 YDS. JIM P
