Try 3.5-3.7 WST with a 200 grain lead SWC or a 185 lead HP. Seat to specs and light taper crimp.

I'll have to try JB's loads.

I've had good success with 3.7 gr of good ol' Bullseye using 185 gr Magnus #801 button nose cast bullets.

Jim, don't look you can do much better than this! Only other powder might suggest trying is CGE pistol.

4.4 bullseye 200 gr cast lswc this morning first 4 shots at 50 m were 10 X X 10
Couple more 10 on the 10 line so I figured good enough and put the 1911 away

I believe the "set the standard" 45acp 200 grain SWC load for 25 yards is 4.0 grains of Bullseye powder.
I have had excellent results with 4.0 grains of RedDot or PROMO powder with the same bullets weight & profile.
