Back Again

The path into Leiche Town cuts through the dull, depressing woods that seemingly foreshadows the feeling of gloom particularly evident in this fallen area of Nacht. Illusory Wood is often described as being intensely creepy and definitely not a place you would want to visit come nightfall. Those who do are rumored to have disappeared or gone mad.

Jace returned to this dead, gods-forsaken town for the fourth time in his life. What had started as a slight interest, a simple desire to capture a ghost type pokemon evolved into an obsession. He had been to leiche three times before in search of a ghost pokemon, and he hadn't even seen one once. There were files, reports, and rumors on top of rumors about how Leiche Town and the surrounding Illusory Wood were the paranormal capital of Nacht, but so far Jace hadn't even seen a single bit of evidence that any ghosts were anywhere around here.

What made matters worse for Jace is that he was being followed by Weebles, the wynaut that he had obtained here in leiche a few weeks ago. The damn thing was annoyingly optimistic. The giant goofy grin on her face drove Jace up a wall, and no he doesn't see the irony in that. Worst of it all was that she had a tendency to never stay in her pokeball, so she was always in his presence, and never left him alone.Even under the circumstances of annoyance and obsession Jace's signature grin never left his face.

Jace trekked off into the woods followed by the little blue bundle of love that was at this moment the very bane of his existence. Hopefully he would manage to find a ghost to put his obsession to rest, and Leiche in his past.

A sudden silence caught Jace by surprise. It wasn't the woods. They had always been silent. It was the absence of a particularly annoying Wy and Naut sounds from behind him. He released a contented sigh at this pleasant turn of events, but he couldn't enjoy it. He knew that if Weebles was being quiet then more than likely there was something going wrong.

Jace turned around to see Weebles asleep, surrounded by an amorphous cloud of purple gas. A sudden wave of delight washed over him, and his smile grew to grotesque proportions when the amorphous gas re-formed in the shape of a gastly in front of him. Finally after returning to this dead town time and again he finally had what he was looking for within his grasp.

Jace returned Weebles to her pokeball with a snicker over how easily she was overtaken, and he held out the custom pokeball that held the twins within it. The twin drowzee appeared in front of him, and Jace began giving out his commands. "He's poison, so you two shouldn't have too much trouble. Just use CONFUSION, and try not to kill it." After his last words escaped his lips Jace's mind trailed off pondering the logistics of killing a ghost.

Apparently Jace letting his mind wander distracted the twins, because before they could use their CONFUSION the gastly managed to counter with its own CONFUSE RAY. Wundt was hit by the attack, and the confusion instantly set in. The twins' unique condition granted them several advantages, but there was one glaring disadvantage. What happens to one happens to both.

When the CONFUSE RAY hit Wundt Freud was immediately affected. His CONFUSION hit Wundt, which in turn caused Wundt's CONFUSION to miss entirely. The gastly snickered as it floated around the drowzee, and it let loose a TOXIC attack on Freud this time. Once again even though only one of them was poisioned Wundt felt the effects, and now this battle became a race against the clocks before they both fainted.

The situation had turned desperate, and in the stress of the situation the twins began to glow. Just like everything else they did Wundt and Freud evolved simultaneously and with mirrored synchronization. The newly evolved hypno twins managed to fight through their confusion, and use their own CONFUSION attack against the gastly.

The super effective attacks landed on the ghost pokemon, and Jace threw out his pokeball. The gaseous pokemon was drawn in by a red light, and the pokeball fell to the ground. After shaking a few times a soft beep was heard indicating the successful capture, and Jace added his new pokemon to the collection.
