Okay, so a lot of us have picked our favorite song, whether for the melody, lyrics, sounds, or whatever, but now I ask the question: which song is the most amazing and/or astonishing to you? Which song feels like it really is in a whole new catagory of "song" on it's own, or rather, makes you feel as though that song is more than a "song"... er... something like that.

My personal example and thought is that I believe Grey Machine is Pinback's most amazing song. An eleven minute giant that evolves with time, into something more emotional, and seemingly, more fragile, while the whole idea and sense of the song still stay apparent. As if it is comples when you look at it overall, but it really does end with your mind completely dazzled. Blah, I ramble on, but you get the point. I personally don't really look at Grey Machine as a song, but more of a feeling.

That's why I think Gray Machine is their most amazing and astonishing song that Pinback has produced. You ideas and thoughts? Penelope? Tres? Syracuse? Go ahead and give your opinion
Awaiting something, right now.

I will definatley have to agree with you on Grey Machine, the song is one of Pinback's finest works. For me another would be June, the lyrics just have a ton of feeling (why must all those pretty things be sad), and the song just has such good build up. They were the PERFECT songs to end Offcell and Some Voices.

Loro

there's an emotion to it that is completely separate and for me unexplainable, it just always effects me differently than all the others.

June, Boo, Loro, and Grey Machine. All four employ a certain..'vibe,' or feeling, if you will, that some how strikes the unexplicable chords that no one really understands.

seville is awesome, I agree.

"the colors of the grass/ the shadows on the floor/ the precious things that she had no time for"-- I repeat that to myself those days when I'm so busy with everyday life and I wish I could just slow down and pay attention to the little things that are really enjoyable to simple minds like mine.

I don't know why it is either--maybe my obsession with photography as a photojournalism major, but I love photograph taken also. the sound of it just catches me and wants me to keep listening...
i think it's something to do with the "oOo"s

I think Photograph Taken has a very different sound, but it still retains all the Pinback signatures. It's a great song.
