...get one now and another later.

But which one...I know. It is a crap shoot. You never know which will be more valuable (monetarily) in the years to come. The 390 could tank in price or skyrocket. Same is true of the 372. So, just buy the one you like more and save!

That's my plan, but I also have others I want as well. Doh!

Thanks for your response.
I really never thought about for investment.
If I was, I think the 390 would be the choice because of it being a SE.
Take care

I can't speak for the 372, but the 390 is my third Luminor and I'm taken by it. It is such an elegant piece - tobacco dial, gold hands, patina dial as well as the strap are really a knock out. It is superb.

First, is it honestly "one or the other"?

If you can get one now and pick up the other later I'd say go with the 390 first just because it's LE and will probably get more expensive as time goes by, especially after the last few trickle out of the boutiques and it becomes unobtanium. So now is a good time to get one IMO. The 372 should be available at or even below list price into the foreseeable future, so you can likely get one later at cost or even less maybe. Heck, if it's really a regular production model you should be able to just order one from a boutique and get it pretty easily.

But, if it's really one or the other... get the 372 unless your wrist is really small.

But honestly, I've worn both and my opinion is... 390 is really nice, but 372 is must-have. The only reason to not get a 372 is if you really have tiny wrists and just won't enjoy a watch that size. For my money the 372 is absolutely the king of the hill, with the exception of a couple of specific vintage pieces that will probably never be available to mortals anyways

If will get both, then get the 390 first due to SE.

If only one, 372 it is, unless you can not wear 47mm watch.

The 390 is just another Luminor Base.... how many versions of these exist ? 20 ??

The 390 has a brown dial and gold hands ... so what ?
Btw I prefer a 55 C

Imo a very overhyped watch. Good and nice at lisptrice but if you want to pay market price there are imo much better options

The 372 on the other hand ... great design, more interesting movement, not an overhyped limited edition

I never understood the fuzz about the 390. It is nice but a lot of Panerai watches are nice
