Hey guys!

I'm no where near as active as I'd like lately because of work, kids, life etc... But I still try my best to keep up with the forum.

My wife and I are flying out to San Fran Tomorrow for our anniversary...

We'll be there for a few days as well as Napa, and LA (No kids on this trip!)

It's our 5 year anniversary....13 years together...

If you guys have any recommendations for dinner/places etc...we'd greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks so much!

Mike

Cheers,

Mike

They have a sweet tasting menu where you can order across their entire menu.

3 course is 65ish
4 course is 75ish
5 course is 85ish

You can pick across their menu and order the appetizer foie gras for your Main course and the Desert as your appetizer... very cool way to serve food and the good and wait staff were AWESOME... Portion sizes are great and it is romantic. Reservations will most likely be needed.

Napa:
Bouchon
Red
(Anywhere in Yountville.)

Have fun Mike I love that place.

If you can get in and don't mind spending money, you won't be disappointed at Boulevard, Spruce, Acquerello, the dining room at the Ritz Carlton
If you want to go super romantic - Fleur Du Lys - you will be spending money, but it's an experience
If you're a big foodie and want the most "in" type of place - Benu.
Good restaurant but not high end gourmet - Town Hall
Sunday brunch - Zuni Cafe
Congratulations and Good luck
By the way, Sunday a.m. will be a mess due to "Bay to Breakers" foot race.

cant go wrong with anything in the ferry building. Alexanders is a great steak restaurant the wife will enjoy. I second Beretta in the mission, unfortunately Aqua is closed. My personal favorite for just a great meal is Tadich Grill, the perfect example of a old school San Francisco restaurant.

Have fun & congratulations.

Most of the restaurants mentioned are what I'd recommend as well for a special occasion. Definitely look into reservations as they usually fill up fast. And if you need an idea of what's on the menu or want to glance at some reviews, definitely hit up Yelp.com for a better idea.

For Dinner:
Gary Danko - romantic setting, great meal for the price, highly recommend it
Boulevard
Jardiniere
Benu, Saison, or dining room at Ritz if you dont have a budget
The House

For brunch:
Cliff House
The Garden court at Palace Hotel
Brenda's French Soul Food
Zazie

The Ferry building on Embarcadero also has some good places to grab a quick bite. If you like oysters, Hog Island is a must. Also Gott's makes one of the best burgers in the bay.

For Napa, definitely check out Bottega., Bouchon. There's also French Laundry but its nearly impossible to get in unless you have connections.
