Hi,

Starting cycling a bit into work during the summer, and because of the "sweat" factor been wearing a steel bracelet watch. (leather tends to get a bit gross after a while)

Wouldn't mind having the option of wearing my 217 (47mm Marina Militare), so on the look for a waterproof strap. Now the question of aesthetics -

1. Rubber strap an option, but not sure it fits the more vintage look of 217.
2. Same with carbon fibre - personal taste, but I find it a bit too modern looking for a 217.

Anyone have any recommendation of a faux leather moulded strap. Thinking of something that vinyl / rubber but moulded to look a bit like leather ?

Looking forward to hearing some options to the standard rubber strap. While leather is fine for A/C in Houston, I'd like some waterproof options for weekends and vacation in Florida.

that's the only natural leather that is naturally resistant to water; the shell cordovan is processed to improve it and it's almost water proof

you really do not know how it will do and in an expensive watch as Panerai is foolish to take those chances. JMHO

Nato straps have a nice vintage feel. They're super comfortable and work well during sports/activities.

Cheers,
