So I recently got my first PAM and after talking so long about luxury watches, I want to get her one too.

Any suggestions, does not have to be a Panerai. She as a very small wrist and I looked at the Cartier Tank.

Something for work, casual ?

Case material, strap or bracelet, price range?

Does she currently have any other watches?

Cartier Tank is very nice, classic for women.

has more to do with the "HK" part of your post than the "big watch trend" portion.

Make the watch proportional, not gaudy and certainly not overly-trendy. Just as 60mm watches look preposterous on 6" wrists, so to do many 44mm watches on most women.

Class, proportion and understatement are timeless, especially for women.

Both are available in steel with bracelet. However in my mind a watch on an elegant alligator strap seems more formal. But, that may be more suited towards men.

Quartz, and affordable, but she's not a watchaholic like me. Not steel, but she likes the fact, that she don't have to be carefull not to scratch it.

It is offered in different widths, so you get to choose feminin, masculin, or inbetween.

Happy huntin'

There's watches, and there's time-telling devices. Wether you notice the difference is a question of passion!

Best Regards,
Lars

As much as I love my PAMs, if I could only have ONE watch for all occasions and circumstances it would be a Rolex. If she is a non-enthusiast and this will be her only (or even primary) watch and you are looking for a go-anywhere watch that she can dress up or dress down, I'd go for the Rolex lady Datejust or lady Yachtmaster.

I am guessing the wife would like a brand she is familiar with - say Cartier or Rolex.

I would go with a Cartier Tank man size like this one. The dial on this one is soooooo much better than the smaller ones which are kinda plain looking. Having said that this is self winding - and your wife might prefer a battery.

Or maybe a vintage Rolex man sized vintage datejust (they are only 36mm and will look fantastic on a woman or a man). You can get one cheap too! Although, again, no battery in there.
