A good friend was kind enough to loan me his 352 this weekend, so I couldn't help but shoot a side by side comparison between the 352 and my 233. They do share a lot of similarities, but if you look closely, there are quite a few differences that I can see. Size of numerals, domed vs. non domed crystal, etc...

Both are great for different reasons. I love the simplicity of the 352's dial, and the tobacco dial/gold hands are tough to beat.

Then again, how do you go wrong with the 233? 8 day movement? PR fang? What's not to love?

I hope you enjoyed the pics!

Thats a nice post Taylor. I like the 233, dome, 12 & 6, fang and the 351 looks nice as well. The brown dial on the 352 is beautiful and to me the flat crystal and "seemingly" smaller bezel makes it look bigger. Not having seen it in person (besides in a case) I am curious to hear your thoughts on the wearability of the 352 compared to the 233.

Manish

As far as wearability goes, the 352 feels taller than the 233, since most of it's height is from the case thickness, rather than the crystal. But since the 352 is Ti, it isn't too heavy. What I do like is that it's also not too light. I can't comment on the 352 with the bracelet, since I've only worn it on a strap, but overall it's extremely nice. If I had to choose just one, I'd stick with my 233 since I LOVE the 8 day movement!

The dome + larger indices wins by a small margin. The Tobacco & Gold hands are a timeless combination Thx for sharing!

All the best

233 sure is a really gorgeous piece, but I'm not fortunate enough to ever seen one in person.
Can someone help me with the difference between dome crystal and flat crystal?

A couple of observations:

- The 351/2 case is the same case as the 312, which is has a case back that protrudes too much for my tastes and comfort. The 233, on the other hand, has a flat case back due to the manual movement, thus I think it sits better on the wrist.

- The 233 dial perceives smaller because of the domed crystal when compared in real life next to a 351/312.

- I too love the simplicity of the 352/2 with the tobacco dial and gold hands - a bit more elegant - but by "hiding" the GMT hand on the 233 it makes it a bit more simple for everyday use.

Making a choice between the two is tough, for many the 351 might be more palatable simply because it is over 40% less expensive.

Cheers,

PSV
