Screw-in vs sewn-in buckles?

Hey all! Happy St Patrick's Day! Quick question as I continue my Panerai strap research. Are there any benefits to sewn-in vs screw-in buckles? I've noticed some manufacturers offer both, and I'm just wondering if one is better to go with?

I realize sewn-in is true to the originals, and I don't really foresee myself buckle swapping, but I guess anything is possible.

Thanks!!

if you like that strap and then buy a different finished watch (Ti or PVD) when the buckle is polished.

You wear as is.

With spring bar or screw designs. You can modify as needed to suite the watch.

I have loads of sewn in buckles, but rarely use them unless for my personnel use

Thank you! I'll likely stick with screw in buckles for now then.

Sewn in for all 24/24 and 26/26 straps and screw in (oem buckle) for 24/22...

That is my golden rule!

If that means I buy the same strap with a sewn in Ss and a pvd buckle, then so be it.

So basically screw in with OEM sizing where you might change Watches / buckles, and sewn-in for full customs that can't use 22mm buckles anyway. That makes sense too - thanks!!

I have both ... while its certainly a fast strap change when you don't have to mess around with the buckle ... buckles can be as much fun as straps ...

As a 'risti, do we need any more encouragement with customising?!?!?!

Whichever way you go ... have fun!
