Got a call from my AD yesterday.
I am on his top call list for unique items.
They never discount BUT they never upcharge.
Anyway
He has a PAM 026 coming in tomorrow at MSRP.

Can I go wrong with that????

Is there a flood of them coming in at this time or
something I should be aware of?

I see them on auction sites selling for 12K or so

Watches: Rolex DSSD, Rolex SD, Rolex 1675 GMT Pepsi, Rolex SS DJ, Breitling Gen II Navitimer, Audemars skeleton, Ball NT and Ball Conductor GMT, Bell&Ross Hydromax, and Tissot T-Touch

Re the prices in the secondary market, I am not so sure the 26 is trading at such a premium so if you are assuming instant value is going to be created (in the amount you state above) when you leave the AD tomorrow, think again. It's impossible to know where the values will be in a year or so with this one, and from what I can see, a number of people are passing up on the 26 for one reason or another which may or may not be an indicator for desirability down the line (this probably deserves a separate thread as to the reasoning behind this, the economy, the PAM28, the price of the PAM26 versus the new inhouse line and so on).

In the end, it comes back to the same old thing, "if it sings to you", then take it for that reason alone.

Jay

The only reason I would be buying it is to resell.
I do not expect 13 or 14K out of it but it sounds like
I could make an easy 20% ($1600 so sale of 11-12K)
and help a risti get a hard to get watch.

As for a first, I already have a 233 and 090

It's a sad fact, but Panerai are releasing so many 'Special Editions' that aren't really anything new or different, the 28 will have the same buzz this year, then whatever model they release the following year, each time reducing the amount that the previous model goes for on the market. It's more a case of market dilution than anything else, so many SEs and not much different, of course there are the true SE models that will always command high prices, but they are becoming few and far between for release, the last one for me was 3 years ago.

I put my 26 on the CM had received five offers. That was two months ago. I wouldn't like to try and sell one now.

On a sidenote, my UK AD has a very small selection of new PAMs and they have no idea when the next batch are coming in. Not entirely sure what's going on in the market or where the new PAMs are ending up.

Sorry...but I dont understand these kind of questions...?? I think this si NOT the right place.

Maybe it would be better if you post your AD details, so some people that really want that piece, not to resale it but keep it, could find it! Thats crazy!!

That would be very kind of you!

Thanks

They discount a little on existing inventory, like 10% on 000 in stock.
I think you can do pretty good on resale.
