Trying to get one in the uk with not much luck.

Any owners of the black bay care the rate how it compares with a 44mm luminor?

I had thought about the sub c but the black bay seems to have more appeal

I had the opportunity to try on a Black Bay in Sienna, Tuscany last November at the Rolex AD. Sorry just did not get any emotion uplift from it, the sales person was ready to offer discount but since I was not serious in purchasing I politely thank her for the offer. IMHO, the 44mm Luminor 351 and 320 beats the Black Bay hands down. I am still looking for a Submersible myself - kind of having my eye on the 364.

Salud !

The black bay is a very retro peice. Prices (discount) are a bargin. I own an old school Sumbariner but not doing it for me lately. Love to add a 305 but can not justify the cost over a green ceramic Submariner ( i know back to Rolex again).. The deal on used 24/25's put them within a grand or so of the black bay. I suspect in the long run you might be happier.
