I'm fairly new to Panerai, and every time I change the straps I wonder how damageable the quick change strap system is - especially in that very moment the pin is about to bounce back I hold my breath...

Any experience with this? What happens when it really breaks? Can it be repaired, or must the case be replaced (as I've read in another thread after doing some google search)?

Cheers

Dave: I have used the new quick change on the 299 and 297. Both were used often and never once a problem or worry for me.

I cannot speak to repair possibilities but I never assumed it would happen. The whole system seemed to be very dependable.

I have been changing straps almost daily on my 320 and have never had any issues. (fingers crossed!) Not sure what kind of issue(s) could occur, TBH. Seems like a wonderful system to me and I wish my beloved Omega would adopt it, too! Changing straps on my Omega is nowhere as easy as on my 320!

My two yen,

I have one that sticks a bit so I have to really push hard sometimes. Has not be an issue in 'many' strap changes.
