Very strange, totally anachronistic, a dial of the 40s with a case of the 50s (or 90s if it's a 44mm), made in the Panerai garage? As if Aston Martin released a new car model with a mascot of the 30s! where will Panerai stop? Why not a logo dial with a radiomir case, a 50s crownguard, and a quartz movement?
Sorry I'm a little purist

However, watch industry is a business.

Business is about making money.

I get your points and agree with most of them but somehow I like this new reference.

on different straps. I truly believe the bund strap is so overpowering in this image that the watch is utterly lost as a result. It's an interesting combination, with a California dial on a 44mm Luminor case, that is for sure. The case and coating, along with the blue hands should work well together.

I can understand the purists point of view, but if you like it and it sings to you then fill ya boots!

Keep the original strap in the box and put on something less ' overpowering '
and I think it may be actually a cool wrist adornment -
