Two of my favorite points

These are two of my favorite points that I've made. The reason being is that they are both made from local material. The longer one is what I call semi silicated mud. It is pretty brittle and hinges easily. If you look close you can see the worm holes in it. Not a good tool stone but readily available for free! The shorter, wider one I'm not exactly sure if it is Galena or Prairie du Chien chert. I'm guessing a varient of
Prairie. Either way it's a good tool stone that has a nice sharp edge.

You do nice work. I too like conquering tough rock. There is just something satisfying about whipping something like that.

Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it. I feel my flint knapping is mediocre at best, especially when compared to the expert flint knappers. But I'm satisfied that I can take a piece of stone and produce a usable item in the end.

Those are nice points. I like the grey material makes a very abo looking point.
