Re: Fishing for food

I am sure there is reason but taxing food is extreme. I have only had bass once but it is very tasty.  It is easy to cook as it is oily. Have you mentioned learning to preserve fish? Mepps makes good spinners for bass. If you wanted to you can make fishing spoons from kitchen spoons. In fact I think...

Re: Decidedly off topic

I checked out Kuwahara bicycles and you are in luck.🤔
You are not so old.🤔🤔 They are still being made.😊
Though they are no longer made with stone wheels.😉

Did yours look like one of these?

Re: Decidedly off topic

I was taught that anything more than a male silouhette target was verboten. No pictures of politicians or exwives. I teach the same thing at the archery range. It is much the same safety rules to shoot a bow as a firearm. Someone walking in front of the shooting line will happen once in a while. Eve...

Re: Decidedly off topic

I shot a DW in .357, .38 paper punching wad cutters.  Beautiful wheel gun. Was not the 10" a real tube????   I liked the 6" the best. S&W .22lr with lots of mods for ISU Standard Pistol and IHMSA Silhouette. There's 50 in a box.  There's 500 in a brick.  There's 5,000 in a case. I was shooting 2/ye...

Re: Decidedly off topic

I think that's good to do some inclusive "entertaining" from time to time.  I like to see that. For decades, we had no juniors in the hand-gun section of the club that I belonged to. All the same, we had some shoot-offs that were pure entertainment: Gift cards and bottles of rum, all on strings, ma...

Re: Decidedly off topic

A continuation of the previous thread. Pizza is pizza even when it is four large pies. So let's see pic's of a bit of shooting instead.😀 The first archer in the last pic' is one of our better shots. I gave him two shots to hit a small balloon at thirty meters. His prize was a five dollar bill. Close...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Even the vegetable plates got torn apart with my favorite being
lovely small peppers just the slightest bit tangier than a bell.

That lonesome offering you see there is a courgette.
As far as I can tell a courgette is a small squash.
I would have snarkled it down but already had my fill.🤗

Re: Decidedly off topic

This goes with the post above.
One member brought in lovely cupcakes with great icing on top.
It wasn't overpoweringly sweet and reminded me of a cream cheese icing.
There was even the added bonus of a home made target decoration on top.
I just hope the decoration wasn't styrofoam.😮

Re: Decidedly off topic

How many spark plugs?  One or two?  I'll ride that if it burns gas. Really, and that, without the rack and panniers, weighs two pounds less than the Moose bike I was looking at. Last night was the last night at the range until after the holidays. In times past they gave me a budget and I would go all...

Re: Decidedly off topic

That's a big ten four on staying objective. It is both hard and easy to stand firm when beauties like the one below show up. This is a voyageurs fat bike with brackets for a back rack and panniers on it. The real pretty one with the snazzy paint job won't load. The basic model itself is $2800.00 U.S...

Re: Anyone know of the Heal All herb?

I remember candies in my youth that were liquid in a translucent wax cigar. You chose your flavor, bit the end off the cigar and drank the sweet prize inside. You could chew the wax as a way to be sure you got every drop. I sure hope it wasn't a petro-chemical wax.🤐 I used to get honey straight from ...

Re: Decidedly off topic

This bike site I am on is definitely not a fun place to be. Admittedly it is not a site but may be considered a multisite or separate forums on many subjects. One of which happens to be bikes. They don't want discussion or thanks offered. Strictly one question at a time and that question cannot be a...

Re: Decidedly off topic

"Pedal load" I like that term. Yep I have been too trusting of late. I go today or tomorrow to check out and ride that fat bike. Their largest size is an eighteen inch which they say will fit me. I am riding a twenty inch which admittedly feels on the large size to me. But not two inches on the larg...

Re: Decidedly off topic

I contacted Moose bikes about the second price drop. They said it was an error. That's a pretty big error. It made all the difference from a must have to a we'll see.🤔 I am still going to drop by their dealer for a look see. But it is going to have to impress me quite a bit. I am glad you have the w...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Moose Bikes just isn't playing fair.🤔 When I looked at their lovely yellow demon it was one hundred dollars off if preordered. Now they have knocked off two hundred dollars more. It only comes in yellow but I don't mind at all. My Norton 850 commando was canary yellow. You can see the fat bike they ...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Tracker got an extended walk today. Partly to make up for his aborted birthday walk. We walked down to Tim Horton's, bought twenty Tim Bits and put a modicum of money on a Tim card. Then we cruised down to my bike shop and handed over a bit of Tim fun. I told them the Tim bits were for everyone ther...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Hey R.V. good to see you are back. Your Paleo Planet friends missed you. Unfortunately a good electric bike can run four grand. You can buy just a front wheel with the battery and electronics integral to the wheel. That is about a grand. I believe you can buy one to fit your  existing bike. I even t...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Snow! ! ! 😮😮😮 All my best laid plans about riding to the range Tuesday and Thursday just got laid low.😶 Unless I got myself a Fat Bike. If Nature didn't want me riding a Fat Bike then she wouldn't have made them so pretty. I found out that Moose Bikes is actually in Montreal. Their bikes are rated t...

Re: Decidedly off topic

Tracker is going to get the rest of his presents today. A new harness that he is legally required to wear and four beef treats that look like hot dogs. It is not much of a present to give him something he has to wear. I hope the beef treats make up for it. I rode my bike for one of the final times t...
