Re: Q&A

When starting, I firmly believe the rock that gives you the most opportunities to hit will be the best in the long run.  People can be taught and limit their learning curve in flintknapping, but ultimately you just have to encounter the same things over and over to learn how to deal with them effect...

Re: CANT FIND THE ORIGINAL 2017 PITH POSTING

Very nice!  Chippintuff is one of the keystone figures here.  Tons of knowledge, generosity and talent.  I've been in a dozen or so PITH's and his Texas sized Dalton is right at the center of my case.

Re: A little point

Thanks for sharing, Willy! There are lots of little things that can be overlooked after a guy has been chipping a while. For a fantastic demonstration of this, check out Jason Newman making an Angostura -

That one on the bottom right is Avon, which is related to Burlington, I believe. Thank you, too!

Re: Point of the Month (December) - vote here!

Sorry, Michael, but I still am not having any luck.  I can click on the circle by the point I want to vote for, but nothing goes in and I don't see a submit button.

Re: A little point

Here is one I finished recently.  I bought some heated Burlington varieties from a guy on Facebook and it is some really fantastic stuff.

Re: PITH Winter Solstice 2017

I received my box from daver1984 yesterday.  It made me think, "This is how a rich kid feels on Christmas."  Check it out -  IMG_E2652.JPG Four very nice points.  The one on the left has an incredibly smooth contour.  Could be easily used and resharpened for a long time. Now to the rock - Top left, ...

"Abo" Defined

Thanks for the response, NewbowPA. I agree with your thoughts on the replication aspect. I really like your definition. Ockham’s Razor.

Re: What Have You Knapped Today........

Some recent stuff I've been doing. Bought some real nice cooked Burlington (Avon, Crescent, etc) from a guy on Facebook.  Very slick stuff. IMG_E2498.JPG A piece of Spanish Diggings.  Normally I would touch it up further, but liked the tip color so I left it. IMG_E2502.JPG I got a Thebes DVD for Chr...

"Abo" Defined

The past few months have seen some pretty active discussions regarding what is "abo".  I've always had a legalistic mind and it (for some unknown reason) bugs me when I don't have a definition.  So, here is how I define "abo".  I don't want a pissing contest, but am open to criticism.  A solid defi...

Re: PITH Winter Solstice 2017

We had a couple late joiners and our total number is 11.  Thanks Ryan and Mike for your 11th hour signup.  Okay, since we had 11 guys, I opted to put my name in the hat twice.  The rules have been alluded to, but I'll put down a reminder and emphasize a couple bullets. 1.  Point In The Hat or PITH i...
