For those that have a pointy horn or just in case. Take a tennis ball make one cut across the ball and then one down the center the previos cut stick the cut end over the pointy end of the anvil.

Lots of great safety tips already listed, its difficult to think of anything you guys have missed!

Here is one I didn't see: Always set aside your cutoff hardies after using them, you can easily forget they are there and cut/crush your hands, or trip and fall on the exposed edge.
