1st. Semiannual Bow Speed Showdown
Contest Location- Jake's Sporting Goods Orem, Utah Event date- May 26TH, 2007 Administrator- Mike Bird Send Bows w/strings to: Mike Bird P.O. box 207 Spanish Fork, UT. 84660 RSVP Mike at mikebirdcc@yahoo.com prior to sending your bow. Competition will include at least 6 bows, U.S residents only. Include adequate insurance and delivery confirmation.

Bow Specs: Laminated class 1. Bow weight- 50 pounds @28" AMO (45 to 55 pound bows will be accepted) All bows will be weighed on Jake's scale prior to the competition. 2. String- Flemish D97 10 strand. 3. Brace height- 6" minimum from pivot point of handle to string. 4. Test arrow- 10 GPP/29"to31". Typical Goldtip XT 35/55 test arrows with (3) 5" feathers and field points will be provided by the administrator. Total arrow weight will be adjusted and verified on Jake's scale to equal 10GPP plus or minus 2 grains by adjusting 2" of arrow length and or adding Bushings.

Test Specs: 1. Prior to chronographing, all bows will be dry fired once in Jake's shooting machine @28" AMO. 2. All bows will be shot six consecutive times in Jake's shooting machine by the administrator. Speeds will be recorded and averaged. 3. Upon achieving the highest 6 shot average speed, the winning bow must appear to be sound and intact prior to unstringing. 4. Winners Prize: All competing bows will be awarded to the winner except his own winning bow which will be given to the administrator. The administrator will pay postage (insurance and delivery confirmation included) and return all bows to the winner except his own winning bow within 3 weeks following the contest. 5. Members of Jake's 3D league will witness the event, and at least 5 traditional bow enthusiasts will sign an affidavit that they witnessed the whole event and that the results and testing were impartial. 6. Results for each competing bow and a video of the event will be posted the following week of the contest.

Note: It's our intent to hold this competition every 6 months. Hosted by a different administrator in a different location each time.
