Well after three years of searching to no avail... I found a place where you can just go pick stone good straight off the ground. There is a type of golden chert, opal, and opalized wood. All three work wonders for me, though the white opal is always a bit cracked. The chert and wood got a good dose of indirect percussion and I only pressure-flaked the opal.

Fantastic! Could you list the materials in order of the points? Just curious.

Killer, man. Nothing like finding some local stuff to work! That pet wood material at the bottom looks similiar to a scraper I found earlier this year. Good work.

The top is chert, Middle is opal, and bottom is petrified wood.

Every one of my "ain't nothin' better" statements seem to involve rocks.  Regardless, picking your own stone and manhandling it into a projectile point is, like, the top thing.
