I'm a 30 year old mom of 5. Lived in the bush and then on a farm as a kid. Now I'm back in small town NW Ontario. I have a lot of general plant/animal knowledge and I'm looking to learn more.

Kirk From Maple, Ontario...just north of Toronto.... avid camper and canoeist, I do some woodcarving.....my main interest is in Primitive Living Skills, have delved into bow making, with a nice small game bow joining my modern composite bows,....just made my first Atlatl and am having a blast shooting it, although the neighbours are giving me a few weird looks. Hoping to learn more about all things primitive and this site has it all!Recent projects have me looking for some locations to collect chert in southern Ontario......

Carleton Place, Ontario. (About 30-40 minutes from Ottawa)

I am in the Métis Tribe of Canada. I have most roots in the Algonquin Nation and a few coming from the Mohawk Nation. We have traced ourselves from Canada back to before the Europeans came on my mother’s side. Unsure about my father’s side, but we know there is strong Native Blood either way.

I love archery, reading, first aid, wolves, and swimming.
One of my biggest hobbies, aside from reading is Primitive Archery. I do alot of primitive archery, such as; making my own arrows, bowstrings, and at some point, bows. I am starting to immerse myself in English Warbow/Longbow archery with a lot of Native Archery and crafts along the side.

I work at the CP Pool as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor/Lifesaving Instructor and I am currently on my way to becoming an Advanced First Aid Instructor aswell.

I also work at Saunders Farm as a Summer and Fall job alongside the Pool.

A short video of me shooting at a farm with Agincourtwarb0w (Jake).

Hey there everyone, I love bowmaking and archery, and I am interested in establishing a traditional bowyer's guild or bowmaking class within the Ottawa/Kanata/Gatineau community. We bowyers are rare, u guys already know that I bet. Now this aint a add to advertise products I make. I am trying to establish a bowyers Guild. This is where we discuss about our bowmaking activities, techniques, and you know, share with everyone. I understand some may be worried of paying a fee or something like that. Don't worry we can start by having group conservations online, maybe someone can build a website for us to communicate, and then eventually we can meet up.

My goal is to establish a non-profit organisation that raises awareness in traditional bowmaking and recover that ancient culture within our community. Some people are surprised that you can make a bow without a bandsaw in a day. I want people to know that bowmaking EXISITS, and that if ur interested, u have a place to join. Now, the potential of establishing bowmaking classes is there if we can get a guild going first. Insurance is the big problem for that though. Heck, then we can link bowmaking with native americans, claiming that we are reviving native american culture, and Canadian Culture, wouldn't that sound good for donations and funds?

THere is an armouring guild, WHY can't we have a bowyer guild? eh?

Ankun
the kid who's obessed with this stuff

IF anyone is interested, please post here, or on my email fangankun@gmail.com or on my blog on fangbows.webs.com.
SO, IF UR IN OTTAWA OR CLOSE, AND U WANT THIS, GIVE ME A SHOUT, like this loud
