I've made buttons which provided an interesting accent to an old long wool coat I wore many years ago, also for a fringed buckskin jacket my wife wore back then. I could describe the method but they were certainly not beads.

Cut the antler into thin sections, polish smooth, drill a couple of holes near the center to drill through.

Yes what Forager is talking about are very easy to make...using a hack saw..or dremel tool.

Doing it primitive like is a much more involved project. I'd not recommend it unless you have plenty of time and patience.

Me...I'd use a cut offwheel on a dremel tool. Not a good thing to breathe antler dust if your using power tools though . Wear a dust Mask. If you have a band saw it all the much easier.
